Yandards 0 Posted May 3, 2007 You can calculate the gearbox ratios by looking on ETKA, they are listed there.
Yandards 0 Posted May 3, 2007 Or you can just look them up on the knowledge base if you are running a standard Corrado box. Or just give me the code of your box and I'll work them out or look them up. Any of the above will do :) Yeah I wrote the KB article ;) I was on about your diesel box, if you don't know the figures or am I misreading your first post? :? dinkus 10 Posted May 3, 2007 Ooops! Just realised I've accidently posted this in Members Gallery and not Drivetrain. I'll repost in Drivetrain. Please Could a Mod Lock this or delete it. Tks No need, I've moved it :)

junkie 0 Posted May 4, 2007 Has my figures helped you out at all. Interested to know what you came up with?
junkie 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Yeah, really interesting actually. I can see why you struggled to get the power down for a decent QMT. You basically have a first gear that is trying to put more than 4000 lb/ft through the front tyres for the majority of the rev range. From what I have read and researched you would only really be able to safely put around 1500-2000 lb/ft through the front tyres. Man have i got that much power, nice  Thiught about putting the R888's on as well but the smallest i can put on would be 16's due to the brembo's. Course you can av a run mate 8) but its prob some time off due to lack of funds at the mo most likely looking at gti spring festival next year, but at least it gives me plenty of time to get it right and only do it once. Hopefully can run on full boost then as i was on 1.1 bar and not 1.5. Still on standard clutch at the mo its did struggle slightly at the pod. Actually tried a 2nd gear launch and for that i think it def needs a uprated clutch as it did go pear shaped
junkie 0 Posted May 5, 2007 so how does all this work then as some figures are into to 1000's? Edited to add my dynoplot Simon_Corado dyno lines.JPG[/attachment:d131a]
junkie 0 Posted May 5, 2007 So in 1st gear im trying to put down 4739lb/ft based on max engine torque
junkie 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Yes and just goes to show that power is not everything and i have always said that my gearbox is useless for my engine. Even a new polo gti i presume it was gave a good race till the 1/8 mile point.
