I don't know anyone that has them, but I do know they're a popular choice with Jap tuners in the USA.

I also talked to the UK HiSpec rep at Autosport International last year the the kits looked very good quality and they were clearly a professional outfit. I don't know how they price up, but I think you'll find they're more AP level than Wilwood price wise.

Bad experiences from the owner of the 600+bhp S2........

First the O/S - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2492

Then the N/S a month later - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1320

And then there's this: http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~richw42 ... brakes.htm

Oh, and FWIW, from experience, I wouldn't touch Bremsport (from Raldes) either.

Whoa, that's useful to know - a mate of mine was thinking about HiSpecs for his Mk4 Golf. Think he better read that first. Thanks yalan...

Blimey, some pretty dissatisfied customers there!

From a customer facing point of view, LOADS of specialist, small UK companies are exactly the same. AP Racing are just as bad. They take 4 weeks to cast a disc and depending on who get when you call them, you could get a miserable bastard or a really helpful chap (called Kev actually  ), you just never know.

They also put more effort into pleasing the bigger payers, such as race teams and OEs and retail customers are put at the bottom of the in-tray.

AP get away with it because they make an excellent product. Hispec it would appear has a shoddy product to go with the shoddy service!

A mate of mine who is the "Cheesewire" of the TVR S forum on Pistonheads has nothing but bad things to say of Hi-Spec. He found their product wanting and their aftersales service worse. I think he ended up with Willwoods on his V8S after trying every combination you can imagine.

Regards

Kevin

Fitted mine in april 2005. The company is a knightmare to deal with, i ordered in January and was quoted 3 weeks delivery. They turned up in April with the wrong hoses and i had to make some spacers as the caliper didn't sit central over the disc. That said, once on they are fantastic brakes the quality of mine is awesome. Nothing gets close for the money hence i put up with the hassle. My advice is buy from a tuner who knows the kits and get them to fit them. Now i have them i'm delighted with them and the hassle is long forgotten about (i bought direct).
