Engine temp light stayes flashing even when cold!! Anybody??

My engine temp light stayas flashing even when I first turn the the engine on, I havent got a clue how to fix it???

Id imagine either your water level is too low or you have a dodgy sensor in the bottle itself...

Yep, that's not an engine temp light, it's a water level warning.

It will also flash when the temp get too high...

Stick some water/coolant in it....quick!

I had mine do that when I flushed the coolant system a few weeks ago. Do you have the correct coolant mixture? I drained mine, flushed through with plain water, then refilled with coolant mixture.

 

When it only had water in it it wouldn't register properly and just kept flashing. Once the correct coolant mixture was in there it stopped straight away.
