mrbeige 0 Posted September 1, 2007 1, How much louder than standard (2L 16v) would this be? 2, Will there be any knocking on the rear beam after lowering about 30-40mm? Thanks Dave I've got a Magnex on my 2.0l 16v Dave and it was louder than the standard exhaust. When it was first fitted it did catch on the rear beam, but that was because it was fitted by a complete monkey at Demon Tweeks. I adjusted it myself and it was fine afterwards. MY C is lowered on Koni/H&R combo (35mm).
daves16v 1 Posted September 1, 2007 Cheers Stu, is it loud enough to be a pain in the neck for every day driving?

mrbeige 0 Posted September 1, 2007 Cheers Stu, is it loud enough to be a pain in the neck for every day driving? Not really no, unless you have a de-cat. I ran for a while without the CAT and it was loads louder. To be fair I'm considering changing the exhuast as I'm not keen on the sound of it, plus since I'm going turbo I think I'll need 2.5" bore instead of 2". daves16v 1 Posted September 1, 2007 Ah, so fitting a de-cat pipe makes them louder. I have a de-cat on my Longlife exhaust at the moment and it's too loud for me, I think I'll bang the cat back on and take it from there.
CazzaVR 0 Posted September 1, 2007 Hi Dave, Had one on my first 16v, which was also lowered. Only slightly louder than standard, but it did knock on the axle. Had to get it cut and adjusted. Really good quality system- the guys at the garage said that Magnex were the best made exhausts around.

Would you give me 1st refusal on your Magnex? Thanks Dave

corozin 0 Posted September 1, 2007 My Magnex registers at 82db when it's measured at track days, fitted to a VR6. Maybe that's some help to you?
Riley 0 Posted September 1, 2007 Just to add...I had a full magnex system on my mk1 16v,was the best system ive ever had in terms of quality and sound. In fact most thought it was too quiet! Still got it actually, been sat around for 4 years and still looks new! They can be a touch on the heavy side, but i suppose all stainless are anyway. Neil.
