foster 0 Posted December 31, 2007 My cars a 2.0 16v and im looking at changing the engine this year. How much work is involved in fitting the g60 lump? I cant really afford the 20v route so failing the g60 engine what else could i look into for a cheap, reliable 200plus bhp. Thanks.
Toad 0 Posted December 31, 2007 You will need... G60 engine, charger and ancilliaries, G60 Gearbox (Ratios in the 16v box aren't ideal with the G60), Engine wiring loom, ECU, Radiator, Pipework, Coil, Intercooler + Pipework, Instrument panel (rev counter is wrong), Exhaust, possibly fuel pump. Probably all in all, a very expensive conversion. look up Flusted's members gallery, as he converted his valver to G60. I think you could probably do a 20vt for similar money to a g60 conversion these days, or 16v turbo/16v G60.
kevin 0 Posted January 3, 2008 I did this, to be honest you could do a 20vt for the same type of money,or sell yours and buy a g60 corrado ,i spent aprrox £2600 doing this conversion, done well mind with nothing spared.just late nights in the garage!!!! When you go to sell you ll lose out, your car plus everything = same as before all bar a few quid. better still buy mine and safe yourself some headaches""" regards kevin
flusted 0 Posted January 3, 2008 I managed to do my cheap but that was cos i did all the work. I payed £500 for complete engine conversion minus charger, then bought a charger for £300 on ebay. I managed to sell most of my 16v engine bits for about £1000! it was tuned and polished though.

G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted January 3, 2008 flog the car and buy one with a vr6 in it. cheap to buy, nearly 200bhp, no faffing around and its a 6 cylinder! plus you can save up and turbo it for serious power in the future!
