jackflash 0 Posted April 12, 2008 Anyone tried these? They seem to get good write ups with people saying they perform just as good as tyres twice the price. Being slightly cynical though I'm not convinced yet...
Joe M 0 Posted April 12, 2008 Ive ran Falkens before, they are a very soft tyre and thats why they grip as well as more expensive tyres. They do squidge about a bit though and wear out more than twice as fast as a set of bridgestones.
jackflash 0 Posted April 12, 2008 Yeah I've heard they're a bit squidgy but that this can be combated by adding an extra psi or two pressure?
KipVR 1 Posted April 12, 2008 Putting more air in will distort the tyre in the middle and won't make the rubber any harder so they'll still squirm about, so don't do that. Cheap tyres are cheap because they use materials that don't perform or last as well as the expensive ones. Having said that they are usually fine for 90% of the time and if you don't drive like a loon all the time they should last almost as long.
Twiss 0 Posted April 12, 2008 I have these tires on the my Corrado on the back. They perform very well for budget tyre. Stick quite well in the dry and not too bad in the wet as long as you try not to push the cornering too much. HTH

junkie 0 Posted April 13, 2008 Everytime i have had Falkens i have been less than impressed by the levels of grip especially in the wet.
