jamin 0 Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) Hi all, Thought it was about time I created my own gallery thread on here. I've had the car nearly 9 years now, its remained pretty much the same spec for quite sometime, but over the last few months my enthusiasm for it has been renewed. This thread will be my diary of the progress I am making, be nice to know if anyone else has owned their C for a similar amount of time as me! Here are a couple of pics... Circa 2001.. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfDSCF1828.JPG[/attachment:3bspr8b9] Recent photo... DSCF0307.JPG[/attachment:3bspr8b9] I initially lowered it 30mm on some cheap Jamex shocks, fitted a speedtech stainless steel exhaust, RH alloys (now looking a little corroded after 7 or so years of being on the car), air filter and a 280mm momo steering wheel. The plan is to fix all the little niggly problems it has, replace the shocks, exhaust (I hate the damn thing now) and buy new wheels etc, plus a new steering wheel as the steering is damn heavy with only 280mm of leverage!!! I wont be doing anything new or pushing the boundaries, I just want to try and acheive the Corrado I've always wanted - so I will hopefully be going down the deep-dish euro look as I think that suits the Corrado down to a, er, 'C' :wink: I've got some goodies coming in the mail soon, I'll post up my progress as and when... jamin 0 Posted September 27, 2008 I said I was upgrading the car not breaking it! Hehehe. I'll be sure to post in the For Sale section when the time comes. Anyway, my new blower motor arrived today from GSF to replace the old noisey one thats been damaged by a water leak coming from the vent that sits under the windscreen in the engine bay. Hopefully I'll have time today to fit it. Looking forward to quiet air entering the car now!!! jamin 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Well I still haven't found the time to fit the blower motor, but I've ordered a new headunit which should be here soon so it will make sense to fit these both at the same time as I will have to take part of the lower dash out. I ordered some new coilovers from Venom yesterday, these should be with me next week, and whilst these get fitted I am going to replace some key parts to the suspension also: Front and rear top mounts Front wishbones complete with bushings Front lower balljoints Front steering/track control arms with new balljoints. Nothing flash, but its got iPod support and it replaces my pioneer 'cd-eater' headunit thats older (and been repaired a few times) than the length of time I've owned the car!! Same here - bought mine ages ago, and cost a packet - but will wait until I've got some money together for a spray job - then I won't have to T-cut my fingers to bits. Get the rear hatch hinge-covers colour coded they look great 8) Yeah I heard about getting strips welded in, I trust that there must be a small amount of filler on top though to smooth it all off. KipVR 1 Posted October 2, 2008 Yeah you weld in a strip and then just smooth it over. Colinstubbs has got it right, getting a classic restorer to do it is the way forward, the old boys there will know how to do lead filling which is the answer for stuff like this, normal polyester filler will still crack after a couple of years in places under load, same applies for Audi door handles. (also like the priority, ME and your corrado :lol: ) I disagree on the wheel size tho fella, I must admit the 16" BBS i have now are a better ride then the 17's I used to have however with my 16's I am limited to smaller brakes so my next set of wheels will be 17's again. Another weird thing is my XBL gamertag is 'Jamin VR6' :shock: I guess its all down to personal choice, but if brakes are a priority, 17's are a must like you say... DSCN1089.JPG[/attachment:12vazb7n] I've ordered a black iPod cable as I dont like the look of the white one, I may even move the cable to route it into the tray directly underneath the steering wheel, instead of being in the centre section.
