Flexso 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Hi all, Something strange happening with my VR6. The abs seems to have a mind of its own. sometimes when braking the abs cut in, so there is a vibration through my braking foot. Earlier to it just came on without me even braking? Has anyone come across a similar problem?

Flexso 0 Posted November 25, 2009 I wonder if its a sensor? Anyone else have any ideas? the ABS light isnt coming on
mimjed 0 Posted November 25, 2009 quite possible its the servo, but not sure about it braking when your not touching the pedal?? master cylinder worth checking out at the same time. never heard of a dodgy abs sensor randomly turning on the abs either. i would reccomend changing the fluid as this will eliminate brake lines if it pulls through well
s1m0n 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Has anyone come across a similar problem? Not in a Corrado, the experience I have with this phenomenon is in a vehicle with a current (i.e. very modern) system that incorporates active torque distribution. It can be brought on by fitting wheels and/or tyres of a differing weight to the stock OEM parts to a vehicle whose dampers are 'tiring' (i.e. 20-30k miles), and is usually most apparent when one wheel (NSF) is going over sharp bumps/ripples. It can be quite umm character forming as the resultant pump cycling basically means you have almost no breaking... Unusual in a Corrado though, because the system is kind of basic and 'old fashioned' and therefore hard to confuse (because it's a dumb system...). Is the vehicle completely standard? I would look at the ABS sensors but also dampers, ball joints, bushes, bump-stops, basically all the 'wheel control' stuff. Cheers Simon
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 25, 2009 Mine did the same and the abs light would light up on occasions too turned out to be abs sensors and rear pick up ring!! Does your ABS light flash on and off once when you start the engine?? Not plugged in maybe thats why its not flashing when you feel the abs pulse?? paxman 0 Posted November 25, 2009 Check ur ABS light works first Mine lights up and stays on most of the time and ABS does not function... Sometimes the ABS light goes out and ABS functions as it should. Have already changed front ABS sensors no change! Help!
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 25, 2009 To save any speculation you need to find a garage with Vagcom so they can see whats at fault!
Flexso 0 Posted November 26, 2009 I will take the abs light out. It does not flash at all. Even when you first turn the ignition on. VAG.com will prob be the best chance Ive got I guess. Very weird thing. It hasnt happened today?

krishen 2 Posted May 8, 2011 When i took mine apart it looks like you need to solder it on.
VR6Pete 0 Posted May 8, 2011 I have no issue in soldering it on, I just need a bulb for mine :)
