The Rec 20vt.......prep for rockingham!

At long last I have managed to fit my D90's :D

30mm spacers 195/45/16 tyres and they are just about rite! the fronts dont rub at all but had to bring the back up untill i attack the rear arches as they were eatin the my new rubber :censored:

Had a bit of a problem, the bolts that came with the addaptors were a bit long and cracked the brake disk when i tightend em :epicfail:

but that just gave me an excuse to get some new ones :norty:

Decided to go 20v turbo in the next few month, was goin to take it off the road and rebuild the whole car, but that can wait till next winter. plus i just booked my ferry to the Ring so hope to get the engine swap before then :grin:

Took her for an MOT saturday and ....................FAIL :censored:

not to bad though, rear calliopers which I thought were a bit iffy and a fuel leek, turns out the fuel filter wounldnt look out of place on an episode of time team!

found some more bodge jobs under the car :bad-words:

ill enjoy the car one day :roll:

nothin a 3lb lump hammer couldnt fix in a matter of seconds :nuts:

new callipers in the morning 8)

Car's lookin well smart mate. Met u at the Yorkshire meet I was in the aqua blue one and travelled down from Tintwistle with u guys from Wigan .

 

Know what you mean about finding home bodges all over - and just when you think you've got them all sorted you find another one :? Least its in good hands now

progress has ground to a halt since the mot failure. with no mot n no tax i have decided it is time for more POWER!!!!!!

Tomorow i collect my donar car, an 02 plate seat leon 20vt 180.

90k on the clock, full main dealer service history

tax till end of month

test till next march

told its been maped but he has no proof :cuckoo: does pull well though :wink:

large scuff on the wing hence the price

£1300

bargin considerin there is a bloke sellin a cat c damaged for £1600

 

already started pullin the rado appart, try and get some photos up

the KR engine is now for sale.

make me offers chaps

work is coming along well at the moment thanks to my rather helpful brother who seems to be good at taking things apart, almost time to see how good he is at putting things back together!!

well i picked the leon up about 3 week ago,

the 20v is also out but not got a photo yet! as you can see there is not much hope for the leon, in the above picture you can see it making its final journy as it prepars to pull the rado up the drive :wave:

no, goin with standard management.

thought about qpeng but my brother is a dab hand with car electrics so he is kindly sortin the loom for me, saving me the £900 or so qpeng charge!

progress has been a bit slow of late due to a mixture of ice, man flu, work, and fizzy pop :pukeleft:

after the snow and ice melted finaly got the C back in the garage and got to work cleaning:

and finaly the engine rests were it belongs :clap:

funny you should ask as i have!

Progress hass been very slow due to one reason and another, mainly lack of time n things goin wrong!

 

had to sort a couple of wires to bypass the imobiliser! note to self, never again!

make a downpipe, its all heat wraped now.

Its almost raedy for MOT now just a couple of jobs left:

-wire fan (from a boxter as original wouldnt fit)

-get the altinator wired so it charges!

-mount the accelorator peddle (using one from leon)

-open the garage door which decided to not open anymore.

 

had the car running the other day and the engine diagnostics pulled no faults, well chuffed.

il try and get some more detailed pics up later!

iv booked its mot for sat so fingers crossed!!!

 

ill get pics up when iv removed it from the garage n give it a wash.

Well it didnt go to well!, It was too low to get on the ramps!!!!!

the extra weight has pushed the front that little bit lower so in search of my c spanners now!

 

on the other hand, it dorve like a dream and fook me its quick ;)

Took it in for MOT yesterday and it whent straight through :)

 

then I paid the government a considerable sum of money and whent for a blast seein as it sunny and what an engine......so smooth and responsive, well chuffed with it ;)

 

but to piddle on my fire one of the rear bearings let go big time, lukily near home but yet another job problem that puts it off the road again :(

 

the quest for the faultless corrado continues!!!!
