Mine I think is playing up, any idea how old this would be now and was it a genuine VW one?

Went up to DG today to collect the rest of my engine and see how the car is coming along.

Wont be long now, Graham just needs to sort a few niggles out then it should be done.

Nice to see what DBP looks like polished up :)

You will love the 24v. The driving is so much more relaxed than in a 12V VR, although it doesn't do the lovely shove and howl at 3500.

Well after a long wait she is finally home :D

She done the same as my last rado and made Grahams job a nightmare.

Had a few hiccups along the way which needed sorting including new ECU and power steering rack.

And after a bit of a hassle getting the car taxed. Went to the post office to find I didnt have my V5 in with all my documents :bonk:So off I went all the way back to Gloucester to get it then to the nearest post office then back up again to collect the old girl.

The new engine is fantastic power through out the rev range and so responsive  Only negative is it doesn't have the 12v induction roar :(

A few teaser shots will get better ones when I can

It sure does have the smile factor. The power is on tap and you dont need to wait for it to build like the 12v.

Only issue is I need to get used to the bite point of the new clutch and as the throttle is very sensitive it leads for a bit of jumping at junctions :camp:

Graham has really done a great job with this well worth the wait

Thats just trait of the conversion, you soon get used to it. So much easier to drive quickly isnt it, not having to wind the thing up all the time.

Ya Im getting there also kind fo hard as the rev counter isnt working at the mo because Graham couldnt get the little device he needed. But when it arrives it shall be installed :D

Going to have a fiddle with the cr tomorrow morning then again on Saturday.

Going to get a "little" wanted list up soon as well.

God I love having it back
