VR6 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Would Audi TT wheels, 16's I think, fit straight onto the VR?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 23, 2003 Only if the TT wheels are PCD 5x100 and ET46. Cheers Kev 94 VR6

Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted March 24, 2003 Nah, mine are Audi RS6 wheels. Faster than a TT ;)
dan 0 Posted March 24, 2003 Only if the TT wheels are ET46. 94 VR6 I thought the offset on the VR was ET35 btw. The VR6 Corrado is faster than the TT in both, 0-70 and top speed. :D
julesz 0 Posted March 24, 2003 Maybe the 180bhp TT, but surely not the 225bhp??
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted March 24, 2003 Bare in mind TT's are 4wd, so quoting bhp@flywheel figures is all well and nice, but you have drivetrain losses to take into account. FWD rules in that department, since there is very little: 5-10%. 4wd can suck with upto 50% drivetrain loss (Scoobies for example).

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 24, 2003 Nope, VR6 offset is 46. If you run ET35 rims, the wheels will stick out 11mm more than they should. This is good for handling as you'll widen the track by 22mm BUT bad for wheel bearings. You'll also induce bad tramlining and bump-steer. VR6s have the 'plus' running gear which has a wider track, but to bring the wheels back into the arches again, they use a deeper than normal offset. The VR6 is probably faster than both flavours of 1.8T TT, but probably not as quick as the 3.2. Evo magazine tested the VR6 some years ago and returned a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds, which is well up there with most modern high powered coupes. julesz 0 Posted March 25, 2003 What are peoples thoughts on standard 0-60 times for a G60? Ive seen many different times listed from 7.1 to 8.7...
vr6storm 0 Posted March 25, 2003 What are peoples thoughts on standard 0-60 times for a G60? Ive seen many different times listed from 7.1 to 8.7... ignore the 8+ seconds times......................thats autocar's "long-term" test car's one.....which needed a new gearbox within 2000 miles  when new.....so it was obviously on its way out when they did their performance figures...........vw quote i think around the 7.5 seconds bracket
