Marshall936 0 Posted July 5, 2011 The problem i have is that i have just fitted a single bonnet lifter, the bonnet lifter works perfectly but the only problem is the bonnet won't shut completely due to the washer bottle being too big and therefore slightly in the way! Has anyone ever replaced it with a smaller one? Or moved/Relocated it? Any suggestions welcome, i'll stick some pics up soon. Thanks.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 5, 2011 Yeah I've done both. Relocated to the boot first, then I bought a smaller (2 Ltr) one and refitted it in the bay. I'll get some pics later. The only trouble with rear mounted is the water flow slows down a lot, unless you use a washer pump at both ends.
Marshall936 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Sounds Good! I'm leaning towards having the smaller bottle but do i need to get one with a pump etc? Be interested to see the pics, thanks for the help!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 5, 2011 Here you go fella, this is the one I used - http://www.simtekuk.co.uk/www.simtekuk.co.uk/info.php?p=25&pno=0&pid=2273530&cat=198351&ack=9&search=&sought= I'll post a pic of it installed tonight when I get home mate. Marshall936 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks bud, how much smaller than the original is it? Managed to un-hook the old bottle and just rest it in a lower location which is allowing the bonnet to close! Not sure if i can secure it there though?
Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted July 5, 2011 mind if I ask where you got the lifting arm from?
Marshall936 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Ebay mate, i've got an extra one if you're interested?
Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Ebay mate, i've got an extra one if you're interested? Maybe.... Not just now though, I'm skint! Also, I'd prefer a black one like the boot arms
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 5, 2011 Here's the smaller bottle fitted. It kind of bolts across the standard bottle and expansion tank brackets.
fla 9 Posted July 5, 2011 Ebay mate, i've got an extra one if you're interested? do you know if it would fit a VR? How much do you want for it? Sorry to hijack the thread btw....
Marshall936 0 Posted July 5, 2011 I'm sure it would if you fit it like i did(above) I'm only after £18 delivered? Here's the smaller bottle fitted. It kind of bolts across the standard bottle and expansion tank brackets. That looks spot on! Think i'll invest in one of them soon then! Maybe.... Not just now though, I'm skint! Also, I'd prefer a black one like the boot arms No worries bud, when you get some dosh give me a shout as i may still have it!
bristolbaron 10 Posted July 5, 2011 Hmm.. replacted looks pretty good.. was thinking about moving my battery and washer bottle to allow space for air feed. do you have pics of the boot setup kev?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 6, 2011 I've got this one on my phone as it happens! The battery used to be in the boot as well but that's now under the arm rest.

ryanmac 10 Posted July 6, 2011 I relocated mine to the boot and used two pumps. As fishwick says you do have to use two pumps as it is more a dribble than a jet... Ryan
