RadoVirgin 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Hi all, I've just removed this system from my Corrado as I had a water leak in the passenger footwell from it being badly fitted. The system includes: Pump with correct drive belt Condenser with mounting brackets ( unfortunately the upper connection threads are stripped) All hoses (although I believe the One that connects to the top of the condenser is stripped) Dryer Blower assembly with evaporator Heater matrix assembly with non leaking heater matrix Entire loom including dashboard switches The picture above shows som cracking of the evaporator housing where it joins to the heater matrix. I never used the system in the car so don't can't confirm that everything works I would prefer is the purchaser could collect fro gosport hampshire as this would be very difficult to post £100ono plus postage
dragonfir3 0 Posted April 20, 2012 What do the switches look like?

Portent 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Does this require a different dash undertray to fit? Does it include everything to fit or what else is needed?
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Looks like it's the full kit. You're better off chopping your existing undertray carefully with a dremel, tbh. The one's I've seen, that were done from new at the dealers, all look butchered (and rushed..)
Portent 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Thanks. Sorry a few more questions... Is this a right royal pain in the arse to fit (ie dashboard out)? Is the heater matrix in this kit different to the standard one? Any idea which bit was leaking and why didn't you just fix that rather than take it out completely?
RadoVirgin 0 Posted April 20, 2012 Thanks for all of the replies and I'll try to answer any questions: My car was leaking from the cabin intake at the base of the windscreen on the passenger side. This was because to fit the new blower assembly you have to drill some holes around the intake to hold it in place but unfortunately the person who fitted it missed the first time and drilled additional holes. To fit the system you will have to drill some holes being the dashboard to pass the hoses through. I believe you can use your original heater matrix but I've included the one that was fitted in as I have replaced that too. My under tray has been chopped and has been rushed too so I'm looking to get another one so will include my chopped one in the sale.
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted April 20, 2012 You don't have to remove the whole dash to fit it, but I'm pretty sure you need to take the glovebox out, for access. As the seller says, you'll need to drill a couple of holes in the bulkhead for the hoses. You should be able to use your existing heater matrix, it's just the blower that's different (bigger). The blower motor gets in the way of the undertray, which is why they need to be trimmed down a bit. ---------- Post added at 8:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:14 PM ---------- I think there's an aircon specialist in Surrey, from what I can remember. Some of the old threads on here mention them - I think they were called ACE, in Chertsey?
boredpilot 10 Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) If you look at this thread for changing the heater matrix will give you an idea of what you would need to take out to do this, go to page 5 for the way of swapping a heater matrix without taking out the whole dash, if you dont have any rusted bolts etc its about 3.5 hours to change the heater matrix, so id guess this will take a day ish to do as you would need to locate and fit the air con rad, fit the pump, do your wiring/soldering, as above create the wholes for fitting and putting hoses into the bulkhead. Post for changing the heater matrix go to page 5 for the way of doing it without taking whole dash out!! http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?45452-Replacing-the-heater-matrix-non-canada-style-max-pics Edited April 20, 2012 by boredpilot forgot the link

Portent 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Thanks MoonlightVR and Fla. I really appreciate it. I'm still undecided. It's a good price and I reckon I would be able to install it with even my basic knowledge. But I'm just not sure whether I'd ever get the time to fix the stripped threads and fit it. It's also a 150 mile round trip if I collected. I'll have a final think overnight. Jim Bowen 1 Posted April 24, 2012 I'm halfway through removing a complete Diavia kit at the moment, they don't seem very complicated really.
