Corrado VR supercharged

Recommended Posts

Seems over priced tbf. A very very nice looking example before anyone tells me off mind. But mines had a full respray, full leather added, wheels and suspension etc when it was rebuilt and it worth what.... £3500-4000 max. Take that and put a supercharger on it then your nearly there anyway for a lot less. I have seen Golf mk2 Rallye for less.

There was a thread about this not so long ago..

I, for one, think its worth every penny of that.. Its a well known car that has some lovely upgrades...

My thoughts exactly. Say you we're buying it from the chap that completed all the work no issues. Prob on this forum and knows his stuff. But as you say bought then let it sit ???

Just wondered what's happened to it in the meantime.

I nearly made my mind up to get it, but I too thought It was over priced ,had a few emails back and forth with the chap , he wouldn't budge on 7k , 5.5k I probably would have gone for it.

You can buy very nice 400ps evo 6 for that price so no wonder nobody willing to pay that much.

That was Guy Hartleys car - it's safe to say that no expense was ever spared on that motor and anything it needed, it got. Was one of my all time favourite Corrado's and great to see it's still in good shape.

It was up for sale by Guy@£8k back in 2008, chaps probably looking to make back what he paid for it, it's had no mods since then, so don't know why he would of stuck it up for 9.5k......

It is every bit as clean as it looks. Considering someone paid £15K for a Storm turbo last year, I'd say this Charged Storm is a steal at £7.5K.

If someone wanted a super clean Storm (like it or not, they fetch a premimum over the lesser VR6s by default) and also wanted to supercharge it, you'd be foolhardy not to buy this. The engine work runs well into 4 figures alone. It's got expensive wheels, expensive brakes, the lot. As far as modified Corrados go, it's probably the most complete package around.

Very niche car, you really have to like the Corrado to spend that amount of money on one. Its not really a car that you can sell to someone, they have to pretty much want it. I was the same when I bought my old red one but I dont regret it at all. Its nice having a car that very few others in the country have.

To me its worth having as the price its at you shouldnt loose any money in the long run. Not many cars you can buy that will do that. The forged internals are a big selling point IMO.

I'll second Kev there. As the owner of a Storm currently going through the fun of having a Charger installed and a few other upgrades. This is not so badly priced. However, the fact it has been laying up fills me with dread. Cars do not like to sit unused for long periods of time. I'd want a specialist to inspect the car before I hand over the readies. And I would probably offer £6.5k.

If it's as good as the Ad says. It's a seriously sorted Corrado. Nothing left to do but drive and maintain it.

Yeah I agree on that. Why hasn't he used it for so long? It's like turning up to a job interview with a 4 year gap between jobs. They will want to know what you've done with yourself for 4 years. It's seldom a good sign!

Maybe he bought it purely as an investment but it hasn't kept it's value or gone up like he hoped it would?

Interested to see what happens with this one. As soon as mine is taxed and tested it'll be going up for sale.
