Geo 0 Posted May 6, 2004 It'd be a nice leisurely 30 minutes, with time to make a cup of tea while the oil was draining out of the car. That's how much labour a garage would probably charge you anyway
stel g60 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Supercharged wrote, 300k!! - I would change it a bit more reguarlythan that sorry mate, meant 3k
dr_mat 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Most garages these days do an engine flush when they change the oil.. Which is a bit pointless if you're changing it so often..
Phil K 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Have you managed to get this sorted yet Chris?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted May 6, 2004 [quote name="Scott"30 mins!!!! It shouldnt even take you half of that mate!!.... :D[/quote] Not if you've got a Mocal oil cooler on your G60! K
Supercharged 2 Posted May 6, 2004 Yeah, I do mine every 3k... I used to do every 5k on my Golf but the oil gets hotter due to the nature of the supercharged engine altho I now have the Mocal in place and its chopped 20c of the higher oil temps! Not if you've got a Mocal oil cooler on your G60! I think Kev is refering to my mocal sandwich plate which sits underneath the OE heat exchanger and makes it imposible to fit a G60 filter on the car without hack-sawing the hex off the bottom first! - still only takes 30 mins mind!! kongo127 0 Posted May 6, 2004 ya I was wondering about my oil as well... Mobil 1 super synthetic 15w-50 I live in the north east US, and summer is coming up.... That should be ok right? That is an excellent option! 15W-50 is best oil type for our countries! The owners manual advises it to tropical climates. I am using Shell Helix Plus (semi-syntetic) 15W-50. But i think that you can use fully syntetic motor oil too without problems!
