P3rks 11 Posted December 7, 2013 Well there we go then. I thought the gruvenparts one is lifetime warranty though? How much is the OE plastic one from VW?
Jon_vr6 1 Posted December 7, 2013 About 20/30 quid for plastic one. Didnt know there was lifetime warranty plus id have to send the old part back to the US etc, not worth the hassle.
Timbo 0 Posted December 7, 2013 A couple of quid spent on some PTFE tape would sort that out...
Jon_vr6 1 Posted December 7, 2013 Probably but i didnt want it happening again so binned it
VAG-hag 0 Posted December 8, 2013 Get one with no drain hole. Will outlast the car! :)
MarkFoster 0 Posted December 8, 2013 I've got a 42 Draft Designs one and not had any problems in the three or so years it's been on the car. Not even looked at since it was fitted actually so not sure why I bothered with the flashy brushed finish, lol. http://www.awesomegti.com/brand/42-draft-designs/42-draft-12v-vr6-ss-coolant-pipe-black M

Jim Bowen 1 Posted December 9, 2013 I have had a gruvenparts one fitted to mine for about 5yrs and 70,000miles. Nothing wrong with them. Swapped it from one engine to another too. Although i have never bothered to use the drain plug on it, i usually just disconnect a hose on the rad or thermostat.

Yeah thats where the problem lies, dont use the drain plug otherwise you'll run into problems
