Jon_vr6 1 Posted January 14, 2015 Standard one went i went gruven and the drain plug started not sealing properly. Gone back to standard plastic VW since rebuild if its good for 125k ish then whats the point in a metal one
Jim Bowen 1 Posted January 14, 2015 I've got a gruven parts one, its been on and off quite a bit over the 5yrs+ i've owned it, but i've never undone the drain plug. I like mine, but people say for the money you may as well buy a VW plastic one.
Storm Guy 0 Posted January 14, 2015 If you decide on a plastic one, I have a brand new one sitting in my parts box not needed. Drop me a pm if you're interested.

MarkFoster 0 Posted January 14, 2015 I have a 42 Draft Designs crack pipe and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I have to admit though I'm not sure it's worth the premium over the plastic VW original as although they do split fail eventually, mine lasted for over 95k miles before it threw up all over Tesco's car park, lol! Having said that, bear in mind when your plastic one does rupture you will need to be towed home as it completely kills the cooling system. And being towed ain't cheap these days..... M. VAG-hag 0 Posted January 14, 2015 Not sure who made mine but it's stainless and won't crumble like the plastic ones do. Hurrah!
