aide 0 Posted July 9, 2004 I bunged some cheapy (£5) additive when changed the gearbox oil last month, noticed no difference really, besides it's harder to get into second gear when cold - but then again my gearbox/ synchronisers are knackered :( Mate of mine put the slick50 treatment in and swears by it, apparently very good but pricier. my 2pence
Rossco 0 Posted July 9, 2004 Aye slick 50 is an absolute winner, my box was ace with it till it popped a hole in it
corradoSTORM man 0 Posted July 17, 2004 Redline syn gear oil to thin, it will piss out everywhere. If you good seals fine, if your box done bit of mileage for get it.

scruffydubbers 0 Posted July 18, 2004 my mk1 box was a little noisey put some additives in and it died within a couple of weeks, altho this could have happpened anyway
randal 0 Posted July 18, 2004 I'll jump on the "Yay for Redline and Slick 50" bandwagon. Had a really notchy gear change when I first bought the car, quickly resolved with a oil change. A lot smoother now. :)
