Originals are taped in place also. Shouldn't have side to side movement but they are basically water channels, and don't think they're intended to be water tight.

I had mine around the same time as Delfinis38, they were a snug fit and have been fine (double sided tape used also)

Maybe there is some inconsistency with the thickness of the trims ?

Good point, never thought about it.

But never experienced it on my trims.

 

Still think that one trim is but to long or there is not enough space in gutter for them to sit. Let's wait.

I'm guessing the rear clip part needs taking off and the extrusions needs a few mm taken off, it should then sit flush.

OK I've been tinkering with the car for a couple of hours now and left the trims on in the sun, this seems to of softened them up and they now stay put without rattling about. So hopefully this was just because they've been in the packaging tube for a while in my cold garage, I didn't realise the originals were taped in so will get some thin clear double sided tape to help them out. Hopefully they will be fine from now on.

I thought the new ones came with doublesided tape and end caps fitted.

No I did not apply any tape to them, thought this can be sorted individually. But I might consider doing this.

Just got back off honeymoon - now received my roof trims. Only had a quick look at them, they look good. not planning to fit for a while. Sounds like any problems people have had so far have been sorted.
