Miikeyboy 10 Posted September 29, 2016 Can anyone advise me on suitable springs for standard shocks?. I bought some Sach dampers and not sure what ones to get. Don't want anything too low or too expensive. From what I read would H&R be ok? Cheers
Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 29, 2016 I'm quite happy with my H+R springs, plus they fit the late VR top mounts so no mucking about with different spring plates etc Had Pi and Weitec as well, but H+R have been the best so far

Miikeyboy 10 Posted September 29, 2016 When you say the mounts what bit do you refer to? Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 29, 2016 No6 i think. Mine definitely has the late no6 and no7 parts.
Cressa 44 Posted September 29, 2016 I changed my no.7 for an earlier one. No 6 still fits ok with it. This is probably why mine were a good price Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Miikeyboy 10 Posted September 29, 2016 Hopefully they will be ok with my existing top mounts, will wait and see....cheers

Jim 2 Posted September 30, 2016 I've got some used KW lowering springs which came off my VR available. Not sure what I'd want for them (£30?), but if you were interested we could sort something out? Where are you based? They lowered the car approx. 40mm.
Cressa 44 Posted September 30, 2016 When I bought these they told they were for the late corrado and early mk3 golf. But this model did NOT fit the late spring plates, so check your numbers if ordering. I'm happy with them tho. Mine too is a 95 VR6 Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Hi thanks for reply not sure what I'm going to do yet but I'll Def get back to you if I decide these might be ok. How low do they make the car look? Mystic Blue VR 10 Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) Used -30mm H&R springs with standard Sachs dampers on mine, with H/D Meyle top mounts & the standard, for my 96 model year, top mount plates I think. Sure they had MK3 Golf on the box too. Edited September 30, 2016 by Mystic Blue VR
