Jon_vr6 1 Posted July 19, 2017 Think my front wheel bearing is on the way out as I'm getting a hum around 50mph. Is it worth doing both sides at the same time? Anyway since you can't get any from vw anymore what recommended? Skf ones seem expensive what brand are people using? Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 19, 2017 Just bought an SNR from Eurocarparts, £33 with a discount code. Not fitted it yet though.
Dox 23 Posted July 19, 2017 Bearing noise usually changes when steering, eg a noisy O/S bearing will go quieter negotiating a roundabout because weight transfers to the N/S and vise-versa. I'd swap tyres front to back and see if the noise moves / changes if its purely speed related.
fla 9 Posted July 19, 2017 yep as Jim says, SNR are also a good brand.
