akacheesy 0 Posted October 4, 2017 just windows steaming up, they get worse when you turn up the heat. It's more than just condensation as it leaves like a greasy element on the window which suggests coolant. I might be wrong, it also has a very broken retro fit air-con system on it which might be something to do with it but I just recognise the signs from the last time it went. fendervg 30 Posted October 5, 2017 The cheap ones don't last long at all - go for a Valeo as above. One problem that can happen is that if the car overheats or there are other cooling issues, even a relatively new matrix can get damaged and crack. dr_mat 0 Posted October 5, 2017 Yes I've read about people doing it with the dash intact, but it's quite a juggling act. For what it's worth Stealth Racing have an undeniable pedigree in VW circles and they prefer to take the dash out - or at least drop it away from the bulkhead far enough to get in.
