Good to see this back in the daylight again, well done for seizing the moment. We must meet up some time like we said we would about five years ago! Looking like possibly May at the earliest before mine’s out again though, too busy offshore trying to keep the gas flowing at the moment 🙄

👍 Keep that gas flowing as I had to clear snow from off my drive this evening.  5 years 🤣 we should sort that soon then.

Yay well done on getting the Corrado out and good luck with the MOT and tracking jobs. I've had man flu and bug after bug all of 2024 so haven't achieved much aside from remove my rear axle for refurbishment.

How's the Golf coming along? Corrado is the Daddy though.

Corrado officially booked in for 1st March 🤞

That Man flu is definitely doing the rounds at the moment so get well soon

The Golf is moveable now so thatvmakes my life easier. It was supposed to be tuned today, but he didn't turn up.... stripping and sorting the bodywork next

I love a MK2 (can't afford one these days), but there's no comparison between the Corrado and a more door?

My Corrado is sulking (6 years standing) and won't start ATM

What's the corrado doing/ not doing Dox?

Looking forward to it 😀

Hopefully I have found a better garage to MOT it. The last one failed it on a loose nut!! I took it straight home, checked everywhere and Nothing loose.... straight back having a tantrum and then it passed.. An unnecessary Fail on the history 🤬

Pinch, punch 1st day of the Month. The Corraco has gone for her MOT and looks ridiculously small next to other cars. Interesting that as I pulled in the MOT centre,  the mileage has just hit

123 456 miles. What's the chances of that 😀

Anyway🤞🤞for a miracle 1000040776.jpg

Thanks mate. I'm still waiting for the phone call. I also asked then to do the tracking so I took the centre caps off.

Hopefully see you when it's all legal

Well, it's a PASS so happy days. Grateful that they sorted a few issues before, that were needed but it all comes at a price.

They have struggled to sort the camber out..... as everyone seems to with this car.

Does anyone else have issues getting their tracking set up correct. I believe most of us are slightly lowered,  but that's all it has. And it does have a camber adjusting bolt either side of the struts.

But the big win was filling the 70l tank up with Super Unleaded and using the Nectar points to pay. It only cost me £2.80 👌

Congratulations on the pass and the £2.80 tank of petrol!

The camber adjustment on the Corrado is awful, designed to be set by trial and error it seems. When I did mine I measured the difference between camber on the ground then at full droop when on stands, I then set the camber allowing for the difference before putting it back on the ground to check. I don’t have camber bolts in it, only the standard bolts in the slotted holes in the Komi coil overs.

I did the tracking with the car sat on 8 breeze blocks then set up straight edges down both sides of the car using a tape measure and lots of patience to get centralised and parallel. That way I could measure the exact toe with the car on its wheels but still get underneath to adjust it. Don’t think I’d make much money selling my services though as it took me a few days all in. It worked OK though as I then had the alignment checked using the laser set up at a local tyre place and it was spot on.

Well done the pass, good news.

Camber is like tonedef and a pain to set up. There is some movement on the knuckle to the two strut bolts bolts into. I do the same and measure on ground and full droop. Never get it perfect and it always messes the tracking up. I wish there was a way to maintain the tracking whilst adjusting the camber, if anyone knows let us know!

Thank Matt.

I may take it back to the Nottingham wheel alignment centre near my work. He did it last time and made it good. I need to stop messing with the front end and then i wont create this problem

Managed to get the car out and brave a 30 mile motorway journey to work. The car never missed a beat, sitting at about 90° water and 106° oil. Mpg wasnt to bad as i took it steady.

. At some point I added the one touch indicator relay which is a godsend for changing lanes. Also fitting the heated seat elements from Classic parts made my journey lovely and toasties.

No knocking noises from all of the bloody pot holes either which is nice. The car seems to be behaving

Came off nights and the 1st decent day in a long time, so gave the interior a clean with a carpet spot cleaner machine. Dirty dirty water so it must have done something good. Dried stain free thankfully.

I still need to sort the tracking  and the tyre the garage flipped round keeps losing pressure!!

As we all know these keep us busy, but it was a nice day and a couple of great C porn pictures topped it off

Took her for a re-gas of the aircon today. Slowly chipping away at the little jobs that need doing.

And still no strange knocks or bangs whilst driving thankfully.

Took her out for the drive to work as I needed to get the wheel alignment set up properly . I had a steady plod down the motorway and she behaved very well

Good to hear you’re out and about now, planning to get mine on the road at the start of May 🤞
Mine tells me it’s done 38mpg or so, but do the maths and it’s about 32mpg!

Be good to see yours out. The MPG, is always off, and the spirited drive home never saw those figures 😁

Have you got this out and about yet?

I have been enjoying mine with no running issues, but now hear a bump at the rear off side. May just be the junk in the boot or toolkit unsecured. The old exhaust or suspension... I just need some time to get underneath her. 🫣
