CoxyLaad 0 Posted September 6, 2004 How come everyone wants a 4wd corrado now? When I first had decided on the concept I thought it would be pretty damned exclusive, by the time I get mine complete there will be more 4wd corrados than 2wd!!!! :? h100vw 0 Posted September 7, 2004 The best thing I have to say about the Syncro system is that rear brake discs are a fiver each! Thats where the plus points end  Everything else costs more. I have done about 250 quid in petrol since Tatton Park. Gavin

scruffydubbers 0 Posted September 7, 2004 so can anybody help with advice on the conversion? what are the differences if any between the system used on a normal mk2 syncro or passat syncro compared to the system used on a rallye syncro. i know the boot floor has to be modified, what boot floor can you use, one from the donor vehcle? i guess you need all the suspension components drive shafts prop shaft rear diff syncro gearbox anything i've forgotten? does the suspension bolt onto the same mounting points as the standard set-up? or do mounting points have to be taken from a donor car and correctly aligned? i know there is a few about, but is there anyonw who has done it/doing it themselves? cheers
biggerbigben 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Your main problem is finding a syncro VR6 gearbox housing, rare as rocking horse sh*t! Everything else is 'easy'. Everything else pretty much bolts up...
h100vw 0 Posted September 7, 2004 You need the back end from a Rallye, that's how Awesome have done them in the past. Maybe a regular syncro would do?? They un stitch the rear floor at all the spot welds and do the same with the back of the C. Swap the floors over and then weld back to gether. Not 100% whether the strut tops stay with the car or come on the floor?? Gavin
CoxyLaad 0 Posted September 7, 2004 you missed the fuel tank out of your list. You could use a V6 4motion gearbox, but then you open up a whole new world of sh1t to contend with. just buy a quaife diff for yours they are nearly as good :)
