    Turn2 update

Carbonio carbon CAI, again fairly pricey tho, http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/vw%20corrado/engine.html
  2. Im on OE shocks at the moment. I have to admit im one for caining round the rally style country roads near me, I think i might go for the coilovers just for the hell of it whats 650 quid between me and me car!
  3. I have recently noticed Koni do RHA Coilovers for the VR6 and am tempted to go for them. Would this be any better than the Koni TA's with H & R springs set up. It would cost a good couple of hundred more to go with coilovers so I dont want to bother if the only difference is going to be a saving of space under the arches.

In fact whilst we're asking questions. - What is a lambda sensor? - When we refer to 'on throttle bodies' what are they/what do they do, ive seen the pics but it looks like they go straight in to the inlet surely would you not end up with a whole load of crap in the cylinders with out any filter?

    $240 (

All VR's do this don't they??  Somone's bitter! does your car actually work yet steve?
  9. How long would it take for someone who knows what they are doing (not me obviously) to swap over a an old coil pack for a new one. Just trying to calculate a rough labour time for work intend to have done.
  10. Did anyone else have trouble following all that "back half of the rear front end" stuff. This is something I could use some clarification on as I too have a trolley jack and bent my jack points. Ooo er
  11. Forgive me if this isnt striclty relevant as i havent read all the posts on here but, you guys are aware that the value you insure your car for does not necessarily reflect the payout you will get in the event of a total loss. Your insurers ask you the value of the vehicle to assess it as a risk, not so they know how much to give you if you write it off. Most modifications will not be covered under a standard insurance policy as it is viewed that they do not increase the value of the car. They do consider them when selling you a policy however as they increase the likelyhood of theft.
  12. Didn't know that. Just thought there may be others like me who hadnt seen it.
  13. Pretty slick tho init! Owning a corrado feels like being one of a priveliged few, an elite niche who know what makes a real car. Its never really been re-designed and as such takes on the air of a legend, you rarely ever see one and most people dont even know they exist, and whilst I like the feeling that I drive something that isnt, mainstream production, new release every year with slightly different headlights..... ....It would be nice to see VW have another go.

  15. Managed to do get everything off but the two allen key bolts in the bottom of the throttle body, how do I get to these!! I tried taking the inlet pipe off but it didn't help. I did however discover loads of oil in the pipe, can anyone tell me why this might be and is it likely to be serious?
  16. How do I remove my VR inlet manifold for polishing? Is it a big/complex job?
  17. Oh dear, game over then. Mine was a fault claim to. Prepare your wallet my friend.
  18. You've lost me im afraid, what is a liability limit? I cant say i've ever dealt with a claim where somone has managed to sue the third party for more than the value of an interest. As an insured you have a duty to mitigate your costs. An insured has to document a claim be it through insurers or not. If an independent engineer inspects a vehicle and determines that it is a total loss it is because of factual evidence i.e. repair costs would be more than the pre accident value of the vehicle and therefore it is uneconomical to repair. If a third party is at fault this does not change, and if a third party was ordered to pay to have that vehicle put back on the road the insured would have gained not been indemnified. They would have be in a better finacial position than before the accident. Whats more if the salvage is a CAT A or B it cannot legally go back on the road, which would mean by your rational the insured would never be able recover their losses. At which point they, again by your example, would get (for the sake of argument) £5000 cash in reimbursment of the 'would be' repair cost, instead of £3500 which the insurer would have offered and the engineer deemed to be an accurate PAV. Again they would incur betterment.
  19. No I aint bough them, only just posted. Why you got some?
  20. I cant be of much help other than to confirm that yes, it is supposed to be 3.5 turns lock to lock.
