Hi folks what is the rear beam needed to replace one from a'95 vr6? is it golf gti mk2? or golf mk3 gti 8v or 16v? a.n. other? I've tried to look, but looking for a definitive answer on the direct replacement proves fruitless. probably looking in the wrong places so please point me in the right direction! cheers

hmmm i agree ^^ personally, i think bose sound isn't actually that good for the money, but 2nd hand at that price, got to be worth a shot "Better sound through marketing"

Not had mine long, but in the first month I've spent £1770! I sold a higher value car so had some spare cash, so carried out major service, new discs and pads and some preventative maintenance and general husbandry, this should hopefully see me through the year! She is running like a dream and loving the new car honeymoon period even more as its a C!

payment sent, many thanks! I would like non-polished finish also.
-
wanted for when mine needs changing probably in a few days! any good condition as i will be restoring/powder coating...or even better one thats been restored already! cheers

I have a Recaro seat and it fits fine in the front and in the back. For the rear seats, i have cut some dense foam to fill in the hole where the seat contours, but you don't need it really. obviously a little foam or towel needed under the front seat as well to stop my leather being damaged!
-
yea there is a little bit of metal around it which is sound, but its back together now, I am looking to get a powder coating quote on it when I'm next home, im working away now for a few days. Will try and get a pic up then, and ask for a bit more advice on if it would be worth sorting it, or getting new one. Just for curiosity, do VW still have the rear axle on the books?
-
hey, has anyone had issues with a rear axle corroding right through between the press-fit bushes (off side)? I have an inch hole, would i be able to weld this up? although i have new bushes in place already. melting? Whats the story with removing them for welding hole up and refitting? tbh the whole axle is showing plenty of flaking off on the off side, whats the damage for an axle change? Probs with a powder coat too.

Thanks guys, the money wasn't too bad compared to what I had seen original examples offered for with higher mileage. I am very happy and looking forward to keeping her looking good and running smoothly. The love has always been there but now the affair begins! -
Thanks! pics up now on the members gallery! (mod approval depending)!!

Hi there, posted in the newbies hello section last week and was chastised for having zero pics and therefore a useless thread!! So I thought I best get some on! Got the car up home yesterday, just! as the near side brake seized on and nearly rattled the wheel out the window! The previous owner and I ut this down to it not being driven for 2 months, and because the seller is a top bloke, he has offered to pay for the parts and labour to a new brake(i'm paying for the other!) Anyway apart from that, she is pretty fantastic I reckon. Please feel free to point out anything otherwise! So I took these tonight after a shampoo only, cant wait to get it cut and polished!

Hi, no pics on me yet sorry, will get some up on Wed after the pick up!!! I hope to offer any advice gained from myself too!
