  1. I've got tiny slits cut into mine so the white shines through but you can't really see it normally so still looks good in daylight.
  2. Lol, the day after the pictures were taken.
  3. I wasn't sure at first but with the sides trimmed off I think it works really well.
  4. Off ebay, bought a supercharged sticker and the cut the letters up and rearranged!
  5. Thanks for the comments! I will be changing to flat caps at some point as I prefer them too but they came with the nut cap unfortunately. Running at the 215-220bhp mark currently. I thought about the standard badge as trimsport do new ones but I fancied something different for a bit.....and it won't get nicked! Looking to do a little tidying up of interior next, steering wheel, gear knob, speaker covers. Connect up the sterio, I've already hidden the wiring away as it was a bit of a mess. Sort out the perished foam under the bonnet and tidy up the rad and fan etc. Then it's onto the engine again, head removed and off to cnc and the supercharger tweaked a bit more.
  6. Thought I would share a few pics of my 60 at its current level of progress.... There's plenty left to do until I will be happy but then.....when are you ever finished when it comes to VW ownership!
  7. I did this job some time ago and put a post on here somewhere with pics etc of the whole job to help anyone in the future.... I did tag/send it to one of the moderators on here but it never seemed to find its way into the how to guide. Anyway if you can't find it let me know and I'll track it down.
  8. That's a pretty good price for age etc, I use Adrian Flux to sort mine and it costs me £183 fully comp. couldn't believe it, that's with all mods listed and a guaranteed value as well. I'm only 32 so not exactly old but once you reach the 30 mark and switch companies the prices seem to drop greatly. Hope he enjoys the G60 as much as I enjoy mine!
  9. No problem, let us know how it goes.
  10. Try a thicker oil first, I used to run 15/50 in my old valver and I currently run 10/60 in my G60. Just make sure oil temp is up before adjusting the right foot! If that doesn't help it may be new followers required. That said I read that having the timing out ever so slightly can cause that tappy noise but only what I read, I've not experienced this.
  11. Not a VR but my G60 is through Adrian Flux and I'm paying £183 with all mods listed and replaced like for like and £5000 GV. I'm 32 so I think that classes as being young still?
  12. What are you going to do with the old 9a 16v lump?
  13. Then I had a polished blank made to cover the wiring center
  14. Right, where to start...... This might be a little long winded but please bare with me.... A little while ago I bought a piper cam + Followers for my G60.(now a 1.9 with forge internals etc) anyhow I had the cam etc fitted and it was very tappy but almost like a single tap which increases as engine speed increases. It basically sounds like the cam is hitting one or two of the followers. After giving some time to settle in the noise did not go away. I had the oil changed to a thicker type and tried again but no joy. The noise was still there. I next had the followers changed as piper suggested this but still no joy. I have now had the original cam refitted and all is quiet. The car drove absolutely fine with the piper cam but really noisy/tappy. Obviously this isn't right but I really can't see it being down to a faulty cam. Now I understand the G60 has hydraulic followers but I am due to have my head ported etc by cnc and I mentioned this to them. They said that it sounds like an issue with the followers not being correctly adjusted. So my question really is can they be adjusted anyway, I'm thinking the garage just plonked the cam in and that's it and haven't done any adjustments etc. Any comments would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to send the cam back to piper when it's doubtful it's faulty.
  15. Sorry, thread moved to correct area.
  16. I'm probably wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere it was for the American market originally but ended up in all cars.
  17. Hi, Don't want to teach you to suck eggs but obviously get the car checked out and running right first but upgrade wise what would you be thinking of? It depends how standard you want to be really. Maybe better anti-roll bars and a little lower on ride height makes the handling much better. Brakes, I've got 4pots but you could always just upgrade discs and pads and tidy the calipers up.
  18. Someone on ebay selling some....pic is of them on the car still. That's uk ebay though.
  19. Hey, moonlight blues a nice colour. Happy part hunting!
  20. Looks a bit windows mobile with the squares at the top....very clean and simple tho, much easier to use on a phone or tablet now! Nice job!
  21. A midlands meet would be worth a shot, there does seem to be a good number in this area. I've joined the corrado club GB again and found they are a really welcoming group of people, they really made me feel welcome! I always used this forum before and liked it, looks like its doing well. Hope to meet up with a few of you in the future!
