  1. Not necessarily, I would look at how the car is sitting and how it feels on the road, the kit is sold as having a greater drop at front than rear which is the opposite to how mine was. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  2. No sweat, you had me worried for a minute! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  3. On the left is the original that was sent out and settled way too low, number Ew 8513002, the replacement is 8502002 Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  4. The part number is the same but the markings are different and they're marked Eibach B/Y where yours are Eibach A/N. The numbers are incorrect spring: Eibach B/Y EW 85 13 002 HA Replacement spring they sent: Eibach KRA 90501, 85 02 002 HA, C/Q 8530 To my mind it makes a bit of a myth out of the 'matched spring & damper for your specific car' sales line.
  5. Sean are you saying your longer spring 8502002HA has settled and the car is now lower at the rear?
  6. Little update, about 500 miles after fitting the B12s the front had a 3 finger gap and the rear settled to barely two. It felt horrible on the rear, almost sitting on the bump stops all the time and a bit nose up. Weight distribution obviously felt all wrong. After a bit of research here and talking to my supplier and filling out ride height info forms for Bilstein they supplied me with a pair of replacement rear springs. From L - R first supplied spring, replacement in centre and stock on right How it sits now on 16s Great setup on the road, not at all crashy but nicely firm and planted Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  7. Your local builders merchant may stock radon/butyl tape
  8. There are at least 3 different top spring plates for Corrados Left is early 16v, middle is early VR 1H0 412 341 and right is late VR 357 412 341A. As you can see there is a slope to them. I assume once the spring is in the correct position on the strut and the top plate is also to its stop then the job should be a good un. Also the early domed type plate is not compatible with the later smaller top mount and according to Bilstein you can easily distinguish between 'plus' and 'basic' front suspension by the following info
  9. Fitting braided flexible lines makes a huge difference to the feel of the brakes, I don't know if it actually increases efficiency
  10. I'm in Ireland so they're through one of the Irish distributors, Keith in Alloywheels.ie, he's a great guy to deal with and has been extremely helpful. Essentially he's said if bilstein Germany don't get it sorted he'll get it sorted. Two days from raising the issue springs are being shipped from Germany direct to me foc. I'll report back with the results! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  11. Cool, let's see if the part number on the replacements they're sending match what you got, thanks again Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  12. Absolutely fantastic, thank you very much. How does it feel on the road? Is the rear as 'supple' as the front? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  13. I'm in the midst of the same issue with Bilstein, the rear springs supplied with my B12 kit are EW 85 13 002 HA as well. If you could do me a favour and take a measurement from wheel centre to arch on your new springs at the rear I would very much appreciate it.
  14. After fitting my kit I had a 2 finger gap at the rear arch and a 3 finger gap at the front, is yours the same? After 1000 miles and a bit of settling the rear is noticeably lower than the front and much firmer too. I got onto my supplier who reported the issue to Bilstein,I filled out a detailed checklist supplied by them and they're response was 'there is a known issue with some cars of that model which require a different rear spring'. Sounds a bit like bull* to me but we'll see. I'm waiting for a replacement set to arrive.
  15. 96 VR standard ride height on 70k miles original springs & shocks, measured from floor to arch on a level floor, car unladen bar 30 litres of petrol Front Rear Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  16. Inspired by your thread I sent a wee square of leather from under rhe passanger seat to the nice people in Glipone and got this back in the post The victim The result Good kit Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  17. The rears just slot in using all the original hardware
  18. Bilstein fitting instructions: Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  19. The diameter of the top of the spring is smaller in the later version, the B12 kit has a larger diameter spring despite being 'plus axle' specific Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  20. So as grrrallye correctly says the early VR top spring plate is required. Pics for reference On left is '90 valver, center early VR and right late VR
  21. So here's how it sits on the B12s Three finger gap at the front, two at the back, I will let it settle for a couple of hundred miles and see if the front comes down a little.
  22. Thanks Alex, so would that be the combination pictured below? They don't seem to sit particularly well together. I'll give it a go! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  23. Hi guys, just got a B12 kit for my VR with plus suspension, fitting instructions say I do away with the VR springplate 357 412 341 A and use 1 H0 412 341 A. From what I can see that is the older type spring plate and presumably I need the corresponding older type top mount. Any help greatly appreciated! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  24. Congratulations, well deserved. This is one of my favorite Corrados. Let me know when you're selling!
