Sounds like it all kicked off after I left... typical! It was good to meet everyone albeit briefly on Saturday arvo, about time I guess. 5+ years since I bought a rado, 3+ since I sold it...!
-
Man that is one monumental thread revival... and member revival too. :D
-
I'm touched, almost sounds like you're implying I have some time management :geek: Sounds like a Peter Pan to me though, have to give Dave a slap too as I've not seen him in donkey's.

You're not wrong matey, been far too long! Jo's is getting collected on Friday afternoon by a chap who lives on the south coast, seems like an enthusiasty-type chap so we've pointed him here to get signed up. Ex-Polo GT owner turned Rado lover by the sounds of it, so I reckon she's gone to a good home (rado, not Jo lol). How freaky, we all get shot of our Rados in the space of 48 hours... So you've actually found a Goof?? Last I heard you were perusing for one... Good on you bloke, I'll definitely have to pop round and take a butcher's at that. Should have mine sorted out this weekend now I've got somewhere to park her too (finally!).

Thought I'd resurrect this thread for a couple of reasons, firstly because my Rado got towed (driven actually) away today as it's now become another statistic and another "beyond economical repair" insurance write off. :( Serves me right for taking her to look at a new car! Long and short of it, some woman hesitated on a roundabout and thought she could make it across in front of me as I was turning on the roundabout. Funnily enough, I was a little to engaged in the turn (wheel at 45 degrees, car turning right) and she smeared the front the rado down the side of her car. The damage wasn't severe in the slightest - scratches, knackered number plate and a non-working headlight. But, it was enough for my insurer to declare her a total loss :( Good news is, I got a reasonable sum for her and I have a feeling she'll be back on the road in the not too distant seeing as the salvage company drove her away! Sad end to 3 years of pretty much hassle free motoring, but that's the way it goes I guess.. Second reason for posting this is to say a massive thank you to all the people who've helped me with advice, getting greasy, laughs, and the providing endless hours of entertainment when I should have been working or doing something else. I've met a lot of good people through the forum, not to mention my girlfriend and some friends (who I desperately need to catch up with!) all who without that German engineered coupe of glee would be totally non-existant to me. OK, I'm actually gonna start crying - no really. Cheers again and Cat Slaters y'all :D

 Who'd a thought a spoiler topic could be so riddled with double entendres? :D Phil k - Busy as hell this weekend, off to MK boarding tomorrow and working on Sunday. Am off Friday if you're about? Cheers for the offer though matey - the lubed shafts will have to wait for a bit... Henny - Yep, it goes up fine (albeit intermittently and not always on command with the switch) but it was really struggling to come down again. It flinched once and that was it. Unless the connection is that bad the downwards movement knocked it out of whack? I really was surprised to find hte manual mech winder behind the cover panel last night, got the lass out to take a look at me giving it a good cranking in front of the neighbours. Suffice it to say she wasn't as happy as I was, and the neighbours made a sharp exit too...

 but i'm not that kinda girl...

Gents, I'm glad y'all find my erectile dysfunction amusing but it's still broken. Well, not always... ...cos once it's up, it's up all night. Wow, I never thought I'd moan about that. Sigh. :D edit - Shatner. The man, the legend. Funniest performance has to be in Showtime. As for his album, COMMON PEOPLE IS AMAZING! :D Ahem.

So I'm driving home from work the other day and my spoiler decides it's not gonna go up, or down or the button isn't gonna work or anything. Weird. I left it for a bit, and this evening it went up. Then stayed up. Woo, another intermittent fault to deal with. Taking the panel off with the boot open, I noticed a black knobby thingie in the centre so I gave it a cursory twiddle (no comments please) and the spoiler goes down... ...so how long have rados had manual returns on their spoilers?! All new to me!! Anyway, after a manual twiddle (resist innuendo!) the button started working... only going up mind, and it choked going down (pmsl, ok this is getting worse). So I'm guessing the motor is on it's last legs? I've lubricated the (oh christ) shafts and that helped a little but not totally. Any wonder fixes out there, or is it just better to replace the whole assembly? Cheers in advance as always :D

Greetings from NZ! Looking sweet dude, I think the Cup 3's are the way to go :D
-
Removing wing mirrors on a Corrado...? With a blind spot like that? No chance mate, I'd rather drive with my eyes duct taped shut. :D
-
Dodgy ignition switch, maybe all the knocking around kicked it back into touch? Handy guide for replacing them if you need to... here :D
-
Forgive me for twisting the knife if already mentioned before, but what happened to your S3?????? :( :(

Room in that plan for bunkers, turrets and trenches? :D

It was the little squeaky toy noise he made as he ran off that made me laugh :D Hasn't that episode got the immortal lines: "Homer where are you going, are you going outside to stalk Lenny and Carl?" "No of course not" "Well where are you going?" "I'm... going outside... to stalk... Lenny and Carl" "Homer's brain: that's it i'm outta here"
-
"You better run egg!"

Multi-purpose corrado thread anyone? Cue pics of rados being used as ice cream vans and the like  Looks schweet Phil, like it 8)

Furki, first off - sorry to hear that some thieving scum have put you in this position - I hope you manage to get some sleep in the coming nights with the worry. Hopefully the suggestions put forward and the kit you're getting will give you some comfort from those tw@ts. Secondly, I don't want to sound paranoid (well ok, i will) - but have you considered the forum being a possible source of information for aforementioned scum? By no means am I saying that it's a bona fide forum member, but there's every chance that someone has gone shopping around the forum looking for a car close to them. If you advertise your whereabouts, and use photos of your car close to your home there's every possiblity that someone will put it all together and make an estimated guess of where you might be. Once they've done that it would just be a case of eyeballing it to get the particulars. Again, sorry if that sounds paranoid but if you're considering countermeasures and security it might be worth taking into consideration. :)

Personally I think he should give up his day job! Someone with views on physics like that policing our streets? Eep. "Sorry son, I see you've got your seats down there and your tyres look a little swollen. You were either shifting a fridge down to the tip, or trying to break the land speed record. In my experience it's the latter, and seeing as you're in a 30 - you're nicked." :D
-
Another nugget of wonder from our beloved car critic/physics despot... "In general the car does not have a personality." How a man that drives a faux-badged gold corsa is allowed to define "personality" I will never know.

Yup he's 5-0

I was forwarded the link by a mate honest mush! OK, so my recent car choice hasn't been exactly... "zehr gut" but c'mon!
-
http://www.vxronline.co.uk/messageboard ... .php?t=714 Includes such winners as: "The car is always clean improving aerodynamic progress" "I agree with your point, but the car is a little quicker than the standard SXi and so I felt the SRi badges were appropriate." "The tyres are always inflated to 38 PSI to give extra grip and less tyre slouch."

Ah nice one, glad you got it fitted in the end. It's a bit of a nightmare getting it to fit isn't it? I had a nightmare with mine last year, but I think it's well worth the effort. Coupled with red dash illumination (thanks dave!), I think it looks superb. Very pleased with it. I do like the idea of running it from the dimmer, I was toying with dropping a rheostat in line and having a seperate control for dimming the ambient light but decided against when I couldn't find an OE switch that'd work nicely. 8-)

Blimey, those wheels can look good. There are hope for mine after all... Actually, no they are that hosed...
