  1. Pfft, war... 2 bloody cars for crying out loud. The Pod day will be a laugh. ;) edit - this'll prolly get canned in favour of keeping it all in one thread
  2. -40 means it's disconnected. Had the same problem with mine. Jack up, head under bumper parallel to indicator, top of break duct there should be a cable to plug in :)
  3. I've heard what the tegged' up rex does to Porsches... ...you've got to be kidding!
  4. Bout time I got a post on here, seeing as I sent you the linkie! In agreement, and inter-forum friendly at Pod would be a good day out and hopefully go some way to getting an understanding on each car's abilities. Plus a bloody good laugh, and there's nothing like a little friendly competition. :D (and no, I'm not running mine against yours!)
  5. :( Now that's not cool. Haven't topped it, but I don't expect it to be much longer before those prices are common place.
  6. That's worth knowing, if only my car hit 150mph
  7. 2 Storms this morning. Green one on the M25 between Reigate/Gatwick junction at about 9.40, and a blue on the M23 about 10 minutes after.
  8. Where are you getting your bearings from, are they the V-Tech ones that were mentioned earlier?
  9. Rightski, spoke to the branch a minute ago and was told that there is a right way and a wrong way for wheels bearings. Haynes is wrong, VW is right... ...duh. Apparently they need to get re-adjusted after 500 miles. Initially they are tightened until resistance can be felt as you spin the disc - then back off 1/8 - 1/4 of a turn. Then you drive for 500 miles and repeat. Didn't know this. So he said he'd do me a store credit if proved faulty, otherwise it's down to my over zealous tightening. (I said the last bit, not him)
  10. Check your wishbone bushes, I had a similar problem. I replaced the bushes in mine, but neglected to slide in the collar. The result was a random clonk in the circumstances you mention. Jacked it up, slipped the pins in and sorted. It could mean yours are up for replacement, however top mounts, drive shaft weights, engine mounts etc... could give the same symptom I'm told. Hope you find it without too much hassle mate.
  11. Isn't there something that needs blocking on the back of the 2.0 manifold? Seem to remember there's a pipe that comes off the exhaust manifold? Well, there was on the one I'm stripping down - whats it for of interest?
  12. Totally agree there Hugo. GT500 is sex on a stick, it'd be in my dream garage complete with a "Go Baby Go" button :D
  13. Saw a GT40 on the A3 today, in the blue/orange. Damn that thing looked fine. Shot past me, didn't see if it was the new or old one. Mind you, either has got to be fairly rare...
  14. Cheers Steve, just replying to your PM :D
  15. Ah ha, damn work cooked my.. ..er.. ...thinking... ...thing. :D Think I'm just going to stick another one on there anyway. They're like 7 quid a pop, so it's not like it's going to break the bank. I just have to last the week doing 100 miles a day with that drone
  16. Damn, I was hoping there'd be a reason other than GSF's parts. Niped up btw?
  17. Just wondering how common, if it all the above is. I replaced mine a couple of months ago, and now the O/S rear is droning a good un. I'm presuming it's that, unless anyone else has an idea? It's relational to speed, does it in gear or not and is freaking annoying! Also, would knackered rear bushes have any effect on this too? Think they're going to get done soon, so at least jacking the car up for the bearing is worth while  Thanks
  18. White lab coat, glasses... "now pay attention(007)" :D
  19. Jay, think you need to give a presentation to the crowds. Would save you a lot of repetatition, which invariably will give you more beer tent time

  21. You can use the [ url ] tags to do it. [ url=http://blah.com]Text you want people to see in the post[ /url] Like that, but without the spaces 8)
  22. I seem to remember in my polo, if I held the main beams with the ignition off - the fan worked.
  23. http://www.golddustmedia.co.uk/corrado/ ... G_0480.JPG Gotta love the slow and the spurious. There's a Honda Civic saloon in the village near me in the same colour with one of those press on spoilers and some disgusting rims, makes me laugh every time I drive past it.
