  1. Guy at work managed to get one of these into a short wheel base quattro, with some pretty sweet results. The power, combined with that handling. Mmmm, schweet.
  2. Now thats what I wanted to hear. OK, defo powder coat for inlet and rocker. 8)
  3. Nice one guys. Dave, I'll drop you a line about the blasters/coaters. Hopefully should be able to get the bits I want done for that sort of price too. chris g, that is pretty much how I want my new... ...that's a nice clean engine dude :D P.S How chuffed was your other half/mother/flat mate about the pink radiator?
  4. I'm looking into the different finishes for engine bits and pieces and was wondering which of the two would be more suitable. Is powdercoating heat durable? i.e enough to coat the inlet manifold and rocker cover? Is it expensive? The block/head would probably get painted, is hammerite HT paint enough for this or is there a special method? thanks in advance randal
  5. mmm grey cloth recaros... *drool* Ooo, you've got the late spec bonnet too. Very nice, do love C's in that colour. Can't believe it's more economical than a valver though surely?! I get about 420 out of a tank doing mostly motorway miles, from what I've heard the G60 is a wee bit thirstier than that. Still, you've justified the thread title!
  6. Now thats a turn up for the books - something i own actually being suitable! That makes the BHP figure all the more impressive (and a step closer to me having one in my car!) ;)
  7. Ah another local! Will have to keep an eye out for you, always beep/flash/wave/grin at other rados!
  8. It is a nice sight indeed! What are you using? A 2.0 engine? Was thinking of sourcing a 9A bottom end to use with a KR head, K-Jet and a suitable gearbox - maybe a G60 for mine.
  9. now that is a result. Cool, so I can look forward to similar figures when I rebuild/flow/port my head. Already got high lift cams to go in, and 50mm inlet - am missing the 4 branch though. Could you post up a scan of your dyno if you have it please?
  10. Totally, it's uber sweet. Mucho beerage comin' your way :D
  11. Heheh, snap! With the very kind assistance from Mr gradeafailure aka Dave, I've got me dash clocks in red and blue. Yay! Switches left to do, but already it looks a darn sight better than VW green IMO. Actually, it looks a bit porno with the red ambience from the Passat light. Hehhe seedy...
  12. What is it with clios in that colour and crazy engine transplants? There was one exactly the same colour, wheels etc.. not too long ago that had a 2.0l Clio Sport lump with all the trimmings and NOS on ebay that went for under 4K. Totally stripped out inside, and a bucket seat - so maybe not the best sleeper. Geez, where are they gonna put the baby seat and shopping bags???
  13. well shut my mouth, I was under hte impression that the total closure function was on the alarm not the car. coo, good to know.
  14. Also depends on the alarm you've got. VR6 has covered the factory way I think, but the after market alarms will almost certainly do things differently. Plus, it depends if your alarm has that feature, eg the Toad alarms are modular and need the total closure module to be added.

    Corrado door sills

You must have seen the state of my sills! Will be getting them done when the new door and wing get sprayed up (and bumper and bonnet...) Oh well, at least the rear quarters, roof, boot and rear bumper are OK
  16. Well worth the expenditure, and they'll cut the holes for whatever speaker size you like in the price. Remember a chunk of that 115 is postage, those shelves weigh loads. Or you can go to West Byfleet to pick it up from their shop.

    Corrado door sills

umm, the switch that turns on the interior light? do they say "corrado" or can you get other stuff on there? I'd have "WATCH YER FEET SUNSHINE, RESPRAYS AIN'T CHEAP" :D
  18. Or alternatively, Auto Acoustics will deliver one to your door for about 115 quid IIRC. It's indistinguishable from the OE parcel shelf, well apart from weight!

    Bit Quiet

Sorry to hear about your loss Nigel, not cool. :( Could have gone to Inters, but had ramp time planned this weekend. Except my father decided he was going to let me down  So, instead my weekend is going to be spent looking after my wee brother. /headbutt desk. Oh well, off to GSF to buy more parts for next weekend and to Woking to get my replacement door from the ebay-er.
  20. Any point that contacts another panel or mount really, should be pretty easy to tell where it's coming from. Sticky felt = god send :D
  21. Black felt from a craft shop, self adhesive ideally. Well worth going around every bit of trim, and stick some on the back for a creak-free ride :)
  22. She's wearing far too much clothing for my liking, trussed up Mary Whitehouse harlet that she is...
  23. *shudder* man, that's horrible. I'd be back up there, driving car back - pain from knee or not! Hope you get your C back asap, unmolested.
  24. So who the hell is driving it??? Has it been lifted?
