Yes i know that...... But the statement was if they did have the same

I still dont get how a lighter car with the same power and gear ratios would be slower :?: :?
-
Can someone explain to me why this is true? I dont understand that if the 2 cars have the same power, and the G60 is lighter, why will the VR be quicker? :?: :?

Went to Oxford hospital today, and on way home saw 2 C's. First was in Oxford, a nice looking green VR, M plate. I was in my G60 behind for quite a way, then we went seperate ways at a roundabout, but not before we exchanged waves and I nearly drove into a bright orange van........ Second was a maroon M plate, in Aylesbury. Couldnt make out what it was as i didnt see it for long.

0.8 bar = approx 11.6 psi ;)
-
Personally, i dont understand why people would do that? EG. Fords Zetec engine has been proven to be better once its over 100k, than ever before! My g60's done 155k and its running superb, with a charger thats kicking strong!
-
Hmm, perhaps i am. I only paid £2000 for mine, and i rekon its worth more than that....... but then im prolly the exception that proves the rule! :D
-
i think im right in saying that both the 1.8 and the 2.0 have 136bhp as standard. Reason is the cat on the 2.0. theres a bit of info on performance etc HERE. Again as you say tho results are different on different sites.

ok, its been sugested that this may be an issue with the immobiliser? any one got any ideas at all? Its just a tad  when i have to pop bonnet and and stick a wire in to get her started........
-
Bally, externally i want to try and keep her as standard as possible. New side repeaters and rear lights, an eyebrow spoiler and thats about it. Wheels need a refurb, then maybe upgrade brakes and suspension. After that its mainly under the bonnet things, ideally want around 220bhp. Henny, thnx m8 8)

What does this boost return kit actually do?
-
g60racing, yeah there is a load more low end torque, and it all feels a lot smoother. I aint gone above 4k revs properly yet but from when we took it out for a quick test, really pulled after 3k revs all the way past 5k. GazzaG60, bit l8 now, but considering that without porting im getting almost as much boost as some other chargers that have been ported, my charger is ok without a port for now.

some new pics of the charger rebuilt and badge layout

I cant believe wot a difference in sound removing the restrictor from the airbox makes!!! It makes the car sound REALLY meaty, almost like an old V8 or summit!! hehehe :D
-
Decided to go for standard port as charger was in really good nick anyway and i needed a couple of new bits as well. I'll go for progressive increases, so pully and chip are next on list, maybe next month. I'll prolly get em from PSD, seeing as they did a top job on the rebuild.
-
Just got back from PSD after having it rebuilt. Turns out that its never been done!! (cars done over 155k) However, took her out, and she was is really good condition, apparently! I saw a couple of other g60 laders laying about, and mine did indeed look in really good nick, as far as i can tell!! So when it was done, we took her out to test and got 12psi!!!! Thats a standard rebuild, with standard pullies etc!!!! Im well impressed wiv that!! Low down torque is amazing now, and when she hits 3k revs......bye bye  ....(obviously i didnt go up to 4k just after rebuild) So top marks to PSD for a fantastic job! They made it look easy, and quick in my case, and i really lernt a lot! :thumb right:

PS. Beavis - if you read this before i turn up, this may be why im late, or it may not be a problem at all, but fort i'd let you know just in case i have problems starting l8r.

Earlier 2nite (well last nite now), me and a m8 took his old sony head unit out of his Polo to fit in me C. The connections were all the original stuff, so plugged straight in. Head worked. We then squezed it into the hole, and there was a sudden flicker of the incar light, and the head would no longer turn on.Thinking it may be the ignition, i tried to start the car, it turned over, but nowt happened. We checked all sorts of things but eventually gave up and called the AA. Nearly 2 hrs later, the AA man who can, turned up. He then tried allsorts and after about 30-40 mins tried a piece of wire directly from +ve battery to +ve on the coil. Started first time. Removed wire, not start. He got his voltometer out, and sure enuf there was a 12v feed, untill the ignition was turned on where by the voltage droped to 0. So there was obviously nowt to the dizzy cap, plugs etc. So we now believe that there is maybe some sort of earth fault or summit, maybe or maybe not caused by our radio adventure. Has anyone had a similar experience and have nay ideas/tips for me? cheers guys.

Im getting my charger rebuilt soon (very soon) and asuming that it hasnt already been ported, (unknown by previous owner and no rebuild paperwork) I cant decide whether to go for a stage 4 rebuild, or just go standard rebuild and get a new small pulley and belt. (cant afford port and pulley at same time, its gotta be one or other) I know people are going to say "get it ported while its off the car" but a pulley will give more power by itself, and i can progressivly build up power with other mods over the next 6 or so months, and get a port done then. What you rekon?

Mines actually set out something like this: ..Corrado ................G60 Supercharged I get a piccie of it up at some point, if it ever stops raining..... :?
-
i'll see if i can get a piccie in a bit. the bit im talking about does indeed look more like the one on the left
