thanks dr_mat, but forgive my ignorence here...... If they are all oil, why do GSF and eurocarparts list gas shox for the 8v's ? I dont doubt what you are saying, im just a tad :?

NS is covered in oil after weekend drive, so me is guessing that someones put some cheapo oil shox on the rear :roll: I fort the rado had gas ones? Also had proper look at OS and the bump stop is well and truly split, so i'll guess i need to get me 2 new gas shox and 2 new bump stops? Can i then still use the springs that are on atm, coz they look fine?

i was expecting £5 and show n shine cars that were show and shine quality...... oh and noone suggested to me to enter the show n shine, they said that you had to be pre booked

Was it just me, or was whitenoise a load of crud on sunday? Took me 2hrs to get there only to be told that i had to go park in a field 200yds or so away. Entrance and exit were blocked at that point, so had to park on the road. Then, after contacting someone about the price, and told it was £5 to get in, its suddenly £8... And to top it all off, there were only half a dozen stands, and about 20 cars in show n show, half of which were, quite frankly, not "show and shine" quality. We only stayed for 20mins, coz we'd seen it all!

ok, next question, How do i get into the fog lights to check the bulb?!? I'll do a forum search for this as well, just in case its already here...

thnx henny m8, its blowing as soon as i switch onto front fogs. Its not blowing without them on. I'll check the bulbs l8r. 8)

The fuse for my fog lights went last nite, so i went to get some more, fitted and it blew again straight away. Any ideas?

its the original bonnet, AFAIK (i have no paperwork sugesting its been replaced, and I have all the paperwork for this car). Its one of those "half-way between change over jobbies" I believe. l8 bonnet, early bumpers etc.....

Ive got oil forming and dripping at the base of my sump. It looks like its coming from the sump plug area, which is in tight enuf. Its not much of a leak, more of a seap. Im prolly just gonna get a new plug and washer and do an oil/filter change while im at it, altho i only did one 1000 miles ago. Rekon that should sort it?

Depends on model i believe, but 4 the G60 VW say 41psi up front (u wot?!?!) and 36psi on rear!! Personally i rekon thats a tad high, but who am i to argue with VW. I run 40psi front and 36 rear. btw, on mine its written on a panel on the drivers door sill.

it'll be a homemade job, either a "botch it and see" or a beemer E36 conversion.

unless BlackOut16v means to swap the 1.8 for the 2.0 and keep the G60...... that would surely gain power then?

Had an indicated 135 out of my Mundeo, then chickened out, but the G60 Ive only really had up to an indicated 110, but it felt much safer. Would like to visit a track somewhere to really test out top speed, and see how far off 225kph that VW rekon :evil:

i found on THIS SITE that a stock G60 should do 1/4 in 16.5s, so im not that worried now. 0.3s off a tested time, im quite happy. julesz, yeah there were some seriously quick motors there. (Seeing as ur in Aylesbury you should check out our http://www.beedubs.co.uk club ;) )

G60Renshaw, so i'm a whole second im off of ur time. Wot revs should I change gears at then? Perhaps i was changing too soon, as i was changing at around 5500 - 5800.

Does anyone know what the 1/4 mile times should be on a standard G60? @ bugjam on sat, I got a 16.8s @ 82mph, does this sound about right? I was quite happy with it, despite being beat by 0.2s by a bloody standard GTi diesel!! :shock:

thing is u can buy these angel eyes for like £20 from modworld.co.uk . I had some in my mondeo, and they wernt very bright, and broke within 2 weeks :|

And as quick as that, its stopped, and the sun is trying to come out.... i give up :cry:
