  1. maybe it something going into the fan motor :?:
  2. its not long enough to get near the headlight connectors..
  3. well I'm sorry to report that the effects of the reset lasted a couple of days only and its back to the hesitancy and jerkiness on acceleration Decided to change tha coilpack  as well as 'cleanout' the ISV - for whats its worth... Power delivery has improved but the existing problem remains - - so it looks like its the injectors out next for a cleanup and maybe a new fuel pump if that doesnt work.....
  4. got mine delivered a couple of days ago and its superb - BTW don't forget to ask the lady for a 15% discount - I kind of mentioned that Corrado owners HAVE to have some kind of discount and she complied without any fuss
  5. whilst replacing the coil pack I noticed a disconnected yellow lead with a white connector ( see pic) Located under the loom going to the main fan (right side looking at engine under the coil pack area) Anyone got any ideas?? and where should it go?
  6. its a VR.... well I cleaned out the ISV as well as biting the bullet and sticking on a new coil pack (GSF / BERU -£115) the revving seems to have settled but I still have the problem of rough running and jerkiness on acceleration. I also suspect she's running a little rich looking at the trip MPG changed so far: plugs leads coil pack fuel filter air filter tried ECU reset - temp fix only cleaned out ISV Next step - - (could do with some help on this part!) ? lambda sensor ? fuel injectors ? replace fuel pump - - how easy is this considering its sitting in the tank? This is really beginning to get me narked....
  7. ok chaps - will do that then - cheers
  8. i don't know - i was wondering if it came apart?
  9. hi all, just got my ISV off the VR6, just wondering HOW I'm supposed to get inside it???????  Does the plastic end with the harness connector twist off? thanks in anticipation
  10. if the control unit has gone would it still work with the switch though? sounds more like the speed sensor
  11. hi all started her up this morning whilst I had a cup of coffee (bloody freezing this morning) but I noticed she started revving up quite harshly of her own accord. Got in drove away once revs had settled to normal idle, then whenever I was in neutral, she started to rev again of her own doing, up to 3000rpm then settling back down to normal idle. Later in the day she wouldnt start (engine was warm) ---- would turn over but wouldn't fire!! after several attempts she spluttered into life.... Am I looking at a new coilpack here? already done so far: new leads new plugs ECU reset done h-e-l-p!
  12. ok but be sure to get some good quality tshirts - not the novelty ones that come out of the wash faded and three times bigger

    New motor

better than spending a few grand more for a polo, when all you get is the badge. The car is essentially a VW so I think you made a good choice
  14. I quite like them - and would definately want the VR6 one. Keep the colour plain and don't over elaborate. I think subtlety is the keyword of the Corrado...well done
  15. they should make them wear that gear today..... I like the damsel in distress----probably on her way down to the shops to get some more potatoes that the silly old moo forgot for the Sunday lunch...she deserves to break down. Why is she pretending she's interested in whats going on under the bonnet?
  16. have had to give in and get Dunlop SP Sport 01's on the front. Still prefer the older tyre though........god I'm getting old
  17. Update: done an engine ecu reset and everything seems miraculously cured !!! How can a car that is misfiring badly with an erratic idle get sorted by simply rebooting the ECU? Or is this just a temporary reprieve?
  18. For anyone else's benefit - I have tried sourcing these from VW with little joy...thye are very reluctant to sell the metal hazet made tool. However, I rang Damar International (http://www.damar.biz) and they quote £30 for the thing inc VAT and delivery (cat no 1849-6) They also sell the metal Hazet hose clip pliers( cat no. 798-10) but they cost £80 Their telephone 01162-764144 hope this helps someone
  19. none of these places seem too keen on getting their hands dirty and actually removing the injectors as part of the refurbing service

    Shrink!

thats not an unfortunate result of a wee midget getting sandwiched by two retards in their 'S-U-Vees' is it?
  21. looks exactly like the Aston...but will probably be cheaper...what we looking at here?60K or more?
  22. anyone know what replaceable parts I need (seals etc) for removing and replacing the inlet manifold, fuel rail and injectors? also do I need any special tools eg,pullers etc for the above? cheers
