Hi, I have a light out over my dash also, I'm going to try vw Tomorrow for a bulb, I think these can be changed with out roving the whole clocks? The clear screen comes away and you can see/access the bulbs to replace. Is my memory correct or am I wrong here? Haha, also are they twist and pull or just pull? Don't want to damage them. Might change all 3 while its apart :) thanks

Thanks again for your help m8. Appreciate it :)

Hi everybody and happy new year :) is there a correct procedure of changing the coolant? I'm going to do this when I get a decent enough day and was just checking the way to fill my car back up correctly.. My car is a 1.8 16v, I know you have to leave the heater in the hot position and that's about it. Is doing this and filling the engine back up ok with just squeezing the radiator hoses as you go to push out air! Is this correct or am I missing something vital? Thanks for reading.

Could some one please be kind enough to link me the correct matrix for a (kr) 1.8 16v there are a few on eBay but not sure about make, the right size etc.. Are all corrado matrix the same? 16v and vr6.. Etc. Thanks everybody :)
-
Do they use the same matrix across the models? I need one for a 1.8 16v (g reg)there are lots on eBay or would going to Gsf car parts be ok?
-
I have a 1.8 16v Corrado. Am thinking of going my heater matrix soon. Will it matter if I do it with out ripping all the dash out? I get the foam spitting from the heater box. Think it's all come out now? Lol, will it matter if I don't replace it? Not brave enough to rip the lot out.. Thanks people :)

Ok, people seem to say a blue sensor, but mine looks grey? Could be its just worn over 20 years and was blue? Vw sell both a blue and a grey. Both are different pressure. But says they Both for the (kr) engine code.
-
Been to vw today and they still do the sensors. But they have 2 different low pressure switches. One is blue and the other is grey. I looked at mine and it looks grey. Is this right or did I need the blue one? Might be faded on mine? Just want the right one. Thanks people :) always helpful on here.

Thanks so much for your help. If this fixes the problem will it no ok to run without popping the heater matrix? Mine is a 1989 car (g reg) it is very well looked after tho. Hoping I can do this without the hassle of changing the matrix. Can you remember the size pipe you used? B&b will sell the pipes I'm guessing? Awesome help m8!! Thank you.

ok, thank you. how/what do you do and need to bypass the valves. will this cause the matrix to fail if it does work?
-
Right, been out and started the car from cold on the drive, as you said the top hose got hot and started to firm up & The bottom stayed cold. what is the next thing to do? the heater valves? (these are not the ones the car had from new) bought new ones a while back about 9 years ago. should i flush the matrix through with a hose pipe in both directions? would it help? or would you think its something to do with the the heater box? like said before the foam has been coming through the vents.

Ok, I'll try tomorrow, it just today when I got home the car was at fully operating temp. The coolant temp reading like it does when sat in traffic and the air was only blowing cool when on hot. Appreciate your time in helping :)
-
This is the problem, it isn't just blowing cold air. Is upto full temp, does not overheat, but just blows mild warm air. Is it worth changing it (now I have a thermostat) and put a hose pipe through the system to give it a good flush out. Then put new coolant in?
-
Ok, thank you. Would this cause the air not blowing hot even after driving and at full temp? Thanks m8.
-
Right, took the car out today and let it get upto full temp. Again all the heater setting only blow out Luke warm air. (More like cold to be honest)would people say on here it's a thermostat problem still? Or would that be the best place to start? Thanks everybody.
-
I'm going to try vw later and see if they still can get the 2 sensors? Vw heritage have the White one. If I got 2 of them would that be ok? Or are they 2 different sensors? Thanks m8. :)
-
Something Else I have just noticed if I select blower to the front screen it blows warm. But if I select it to blow in your face it blows cold. The car wasn't ip to temp as only drove a few miles down the road. Could that mean it's deffo the thermostat? Thanks
-
Ok, I'll do that then m8, you seem to fix ine job and get another on these cars hahaha, I hope it's not the matrix. Have given it regular coolant changes and cleans.. Did you know the right way to replace the coolant (bleed it) so can change the thermostat and fill it up right :) big help m8!! Thank you so much.

Hi, could some one please help identify the 2 sensors that sit on top of the oil filter? My car is a 1.8 16v (kr) engine. One is white with a yellow wire and the one behind it has a blue/black wire coming off it, there is nothing wrong with them working just leak a small amount of oil from. Does anybody know what they are called and what they do? (I guessing pressure) so I can order some new ones and get the right bits. As always much appreciate all the help. Some very helpful people on here. Thank you.

What foam is best to use and did you cover over the holes? Thanks for the help m8.
-
That looks like the foam that's coming out, does it need the foam on it to work? What does the foam do? I have a feeling this isn't going to be easy to fix? Lol .
-
That's also new did that with the pump in February. appreciate all the help people :)
-
I did the coolant and flush in February it's been fine till now. Everything was work fine hot/cold over the last few weeks it's just the hot that I don't get very well now :(
-
Yes, goes up when stood still and goes back down when moving. it's been fine since I got the car out the garage over a year ago. The foam has been coming through the vents for about 6 months or so and this has just started. It's not the foam jamming something round the back stoping it letting the hot air in properly? I'm not sure how it work? Haha.
-
It blows cold fine, it just started to blow Luke warm when the car is at operating temperature. Was blowing nice and hot few weeks back. I change the coolant a lot and flush it through when I do.
