The valves are not very old as I have changed these not long back, I'm thinking it's possibly the foam causing the problems? It's been coming out the vents in bits.. :(

Is it such a horrible job to change the matrix? :( thanks for the help.

Hi everybody, I have an issue with my car. It's started to only blow warm air when hot. I have recently started getting bits of foam coming through the vents the past few months. It's not long started. The engine has been flushed recently and has had new water pump and thermostat. I'm thinking the foam may be blocking something? or the heater matrix is clogged? Is there a way to check? Does anybody know if the heater matrix is easy to get to on the 1.8 16v.the car still runs fine gets up to temp. Just annoying with winter here. See a post on the net about the foam being the problem? But just don't know where to check. Any help or advice would be amazing. Thanks everybody.

How/what did you use to do your rear lights m8? Looking into doing the all red. Just want it looking good and right :-) car looks wicked m8!!

hi people. Does anybody know where or how you get the all red looking rear tail lamps? I have seen loads on cars now. I think so use a tape, but I'm sure that will look rubbish. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Was lucky and found a brand new one on eBay few weeks back :) makes a massive difference. Thanks everybody for the replies.

Also do I need to disconect any wires as I'm doing this? Seen A post on someone who took the red wire off the coil and a green wire from off the top of the gearbox. Don't know what for? But do you need to do this also? Just checking. :) thanks you.

Wicked, I don't really have any big mods to my engine. Just exhaust system. All I'm after is it running nice and smooth. I'll give what you have all said a try (hopefully next week) I'll set at the factory 6 and do what you said about going up a hill in 4/5 and see how it sounds/feels. Ok I'll give it a go when I get my gun. Just a case of twisting the dizzy to get them in line. Can then set the gases right on the mot machine my m8 uses. Hope it's this simply? Lol appreciate all the good advice! Thank you.

Thanks for you reply m8 :-) I have. Brand new adjustable light on its way. Do I just set that at 6 aim it at the gearbox hole and get that diamond shape mark to line up with the mark on the gearbox? Seen some pics saying this is the 6btdc mark? And just adjust the dizzy by twisting it till this happens? Hope that makes sense?

I was wondering if someone could help me? I have just changed the whole distributor on my (kr) engine Corrado. Does anybody know the right way of setting the timing up? It's only a standard car engine wise. Just won't to get it runner nice and smooth. Does anybody know the right procedure about getting the ignition timing right? What you have to do etc and the way to do it? Thanks for any help! Am great full :-)

Thanks for that m8, right so If I buy this kit, I need the passat handles (which I have) then you have to swop the part over with the new parts. Have I got it right? Lol, is it easy to do?

Or if it's possible would you mind sending me a link to the part I need? Have the 2 handles off a passat (no lock) so just need the other bits.. :) thanks everybody.

Ok, if I go on German eBay and type in " passat striker" for an 89 year car, will it come up with one, and is that all I need? Got some keyless rear passat handles.. Thanks :)

Ok m8, should I just get some passat door catches? Do they fit straight on? It's just a case of bending the striker after that? Thanks for all your help. Brilliant

Hi, does anybody know if the Vw passat 88-93 rear door handles (key less) are a straight swop? They look the same but are the leavers the same? My car is a 1989 1.8 16v thanks people :-)
