getting the reflectors resprayed will also help, mine was picked up on the mot, now the cars are coming up to 20-25 years old I imagine most are starting to break down.. I'm hopefully getting mine done soon. Have upgraded the loom and bulbs so fingers crossed it makes a massive difference. :dance:

I'm wondering if anybody can help me? I'm doing an u.s front bumper with the Orange running lights.. Did somebody know what connector i could use the clip onto the bulb holder? I have the lights and the bulb holders, I just need some that will connect it all up. Did anybody know what might work? Hope that makes sense?? :) thanks people

Hi, just been to vw and they want £177 for a new heater matrix. Are they the best place to go? you can get some for £40-50 on eBay but I'm guessing there just crap copy's? Can somebody help me out with a link to a good reliable matrix or should I play safe a go with one from vw? Thanks

Going to give my car a service what's people saying is the right engine oil to use? Synthetic or semisynthetic? Car has done 130,000 but has had a full head rebuild not many miles back. (If the matters) :) thank you.

Wicked, thank you. I don't mind pulling the clocks out, I just know I'll get a spoiler that won't work or the speedo won't work :-( haha always the way.

I need to change my heater matrix on my 16v c, I have read through the wiki on here and found it helpful, Is taking all the dash out a big job? I know this would make the changing of the matrix a lot easier but I would love to do it without removing the lot. Has anybody done it ok leaving the dash in and removing all the glove box etc.. Just getting a good idea on what to do b4 I go diving in 😛😛 any help from people's past experience would be brilliant. Also is changing the matrix a hard job? Time isn't an issue haha. Thank you.

Hi everybody, does anybody know why my mpg always reads 99.9 on the dash. My car is a 1.8 16v (g) reg. If it's an easy fix I would love to get it working. thanks people :)

I'll try it this week and get it red hot, it never over heats and runs fine. Everything work as it should temp goes up when in traffic and down when moving. Just no hot air when selecting face blowers and only mild warm air when selected to window screen position.. The matrix seem to flush out ok, did it through both pipes and gave the system a good flush. Coolant was only 12 months old and still looked like new when was flushed out.... Let's hope it was just an air lock or something? I'm not holding my breath tho :-/ haha

Flushed all the system today and bled it correctly, not had the time to get it upto the max temp today, will test this week. Put the hose pipe through the matrix, all seemed to gush out ok.. Did the thermostat test and the top rad hose gets hot and the bottom stays cold, could it be possible that it is "stuck shut" rather than open?? Would that cause the problem? Will see if both pipes get hot when at fully operating temp this week tho. (Just Preparing for the disappointment!!) :(

It's passed the mot for this year but will need doing before the next one, who does the re-coat m8? Do you know the place? Might ring them up. If I get a second hand one its only going to go again before long :( thanks.

Hi, my car had its mot this week and it was pointed out that the o/s light wasn't as good as the n/s light, I was looking at the reflectors in both and mine both look different. The n/s looks like a really shiny chrome reflector and the o/s looks more of a dull finish. The funny thing is the whole reflector looks the same colour (not just parts of it) is this meant to look like this or should they both be the shiny chrome finish? Thought Its best to ask before I go buying another. My car is the early style 1.8 16v any help would be brilliant here :) thanks

I won't have to mess about with the speedo cable etc.. Mine is a 1.8 16v (kr) I have taken off the clear plastic front b4. Know you can see the bulbs then easily (3 along the top) just don't want to be disconnecting bits. Will never work again :-( lol.
