  1. other great Kanye quotes: "My greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live." "I am the number one human being in music. That means any person that's living or breathing is number two." “Taylor Swift beat Beyoncé at the Grammys? Beyoncé be dancing in heels and ****.” — show at the Hammersmith Apollo, 2013 “Kim doesn’t understand what a blessing I am to her.” "Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book's autograph. I am a proud nonreader of books." "I'm like a tree. I feed the branches of the people." “The media crucify me like they did Christ.”
  2. wash a micro-fibre towel in detergent before using, like new towels they don't absorb water until washed a few times, much better than a leather once you get them absorbing water, and loads cheaper. T-cut is pretty good at removing tar too, or petrol :)
  3. I love the country and Islands, I know the elite borrowed too much but they've had 5 years of depression and now it's all going to hell-in-a-handcart. Apparently supermarkets and petrol stations emptying and pensionners collapsing outside closed banks this morning. So much for European solidarity, I hope for gods sake we vote to leave next year.
  4. T cut and other cutting compounds like G3 are abrasive and remove paint or lacquer from the surface, a clay should just remove dirt not removed by normal washing
  5. T off and earth to the earth point you use for the amp, or anywhere on the body of the car
  6. Do you not have a dedicated power feed for your amp? Can't you take a feed off that, if you need a step down to 5V then I bought a little 12 to 5v inline transformer from Amazon for about a tenner or wait a week and direct from China for 4 quid :) actually pretty cheap from amazon now: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Car-Power-Converter-Display-Supply/dp/B008VORADW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435481425&sr=8-1&keywords=12v+to+5v+converter
  7. It should be as spec, 6 or 7 deg btdc, the knock sensor will only wind if back otherwise, an ignition curve remap on a rolling road can eek a bit more out at the top end but is done with fuelling to match.
  8. mph and miles is direct drive cable into the cluster and mpg is calculated from manifold vacuum by a hose/pipe to the cluster oh and your first few posts are usually moderated so may take a while to appear
  9. pmsl I think he just called himself the greatest living rock star, what a twunt
  10. some fairly serious repair work going on there, always thought it was a shame VW didn't go fully galvanized on the corrado given the cost of the cars new and the fact audi had aleady been doing it for several years on the A80, still, for their age the Corrados have generally lasted really well
  11. they are the same parts, same also for Passat 1.8 16v, but we are talking 1.8 16v uncatalysed here, the 2.0 16v has a different downpipe without a silencer that mates to the CAT section
  12. all phone calls, line rental, fibre broadband and a basic TV package with a free pvr for £30/month from Talk Talk, I know they don't have the best customer service reputation but I've never had any trouble and have no interest in football so no need to pay a fortune to get sport. I can live without game of Thrones and very occasionally pay a one off few quid for a film on demand.
  13. Oh dear, the BBC are just so desperate to keep the cash cow going, Chris Evans tv days were over long ago and he was pretty annoying then, it should definitely just be consigned to history.
  14. with the ignition off connect a (current reading) multimeter in-line with the battery +ve and see what current is being drained, it's going somewhere, then pull fuses until you find the culprit, don't operate the windows/CL etc with the multimeter connected or the current draw will pop it's internal fuse. my bet is the aftermarket alarm or immobiliser
  15. mines still on the original matrix, all depends on how well the coolant has been looked after I reckon :)
  16. A full engine conversion would definitely be more cost effective, not everyone likes the characteristics but a 1.8T (of various flavours) bolts straight in and can give you a powerful, reliable and easy to source spares engine.
  17. in other news the 2k paint on the bonnet has now fully cured and I'll be spending the next 6 months cutting and polishing it, it's rock hard compared to the cellulose
  18. other jobs to do, refitting the wiring, vapour barrier and door trim to the drivers door I had off: 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr non-drying mastic cord stuff from ebay (bargain at £4.45 - enough for both front doors - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400917093732) 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr yay! finally: 1990 Corrado driver's door by David0011, on Flickr
  19. does it have an electric windows control box know the side panel? mine had dealer fit windows and the mechanism was different to the proper vag ones, over the years I've changed the mechanisms and motors but never got around to fitting the control box, I have the full loom it just always looks like a mammoth job :-)
  20. great to see an old valver getting some TLC, looks good in the engine bay too, everything seems to be in the right place which is pretty unusual!
  21. sounds like a head gasket and the escaping gas is pressurising the oil and forcing it up the breather into the airbox
  22. I'm astonished the spoiler speed clips and bolts are still available, might have to get a set :) do you have an easy way of checking which Corrado 535/536 parts are still available from VW in general, rather than a specific full number?
