  1. Glad you liked them. The Corrado held up really well with the other cars on the track only being passed by the high power stuff. I hope to get the springs in before the next day in a few weeks time. Great dice with the peugot 309 that is track prepared (rolcage, stipped, coilovers, slicks) . He obviousally had the advantage in the corners but when he was behind I was able too keep him there for a while before my tyres went too jelly and had let him past. He is a good mate so we trusted eachother on the track. Great fun. more pics on http://www.irishperformancecars.com :)

  3. We were balls out alright. Although the lads in the Red one managed too blow 2 front tyres so they were really pushing it. Ill get a while more out of my tyres thou (i had my sensable head on)
  4. The shots were taken by the track photographer. His camera is worth something silly like 10k !!!!!! As far as I know the red C is on standard suspension. My black one has koni T/A,s and original springs (H&R springs on the way). And the gray monster has H&R coilovers as far as I know. The 16v was pretty impressive on the track compared too my G60.
  5. Just thought Id post a couple of pics of me and some lads I know doing a tack day at Mondello. Black G60, red 16v and a Gray 16v G60 (the one with the wheel up). I was a brill day and look forward too the next one.
  6. Interesting about the PAS belt. Ill be aware of that. Although my own seemed to be in good condition so it should be okay. Apart from the Water pump tension braket being seized it was straighforward enough. And the car seems to a bit more responsive too so it was well worth it. Thanks for the info 8)

  8. Hi all, I used the search and got a nice diagram of how the belts run but was wondering if anybody has any good tips on changing the belt. I have the belt but havent tackled it yet. Do I just slacken off the alternator and out with the old and in with the new then re-tension ?? Apart from the airbox is there anything else I need to remove for easier access Cheers Mark
  9. I have heard a few similar stories about ebay. I bought a set of braces (chorme ones) for my Golf. When they arrived that were only painted silver and the work carrried out on them was shit. And too top it off, when I went too fit them they didnt go anywhere near my car. I mailed the guy back but never got a reply. I just put it down too bad experience but your right, you paied a fair few quid for the manifold and you should chase thus guy up and get him banned from ebay or whatever. As for him haveing multiple names on ebay too bump up his auctions thats just nasty. Ebay should ban him for sure. As for ebays customer care bull. From what I hear they dont really give a toss and are not very helpful.
  10. The springs should fit but will not be the right poundage for your car. However Im not sure if this will give you any major problems. As for the rear being low, make sure you get new bump stops and trim off the amount the new springs will lower buy. If you dont trim off the difference the new springs lower the car by the rear will bounce off the bump stop when going over bumps etc. And if you use your old knackered bump stops then the rear end will sage down like you have a heavy load in the boot.
  11. Drive my new corrado G60 and mk2 16v back too back week in week out and the corrado deffinetaly encourages taking the bends faster. It seems 10mph up on most corners compared too the Golf and is as stable as the Golf would be. Im still too find thelimits of corering grip and I think a track is the only place I can do it safely. Both have koni TAs and as much as I love the Golf for its chuckability the Corrado is the better handeler in my opinion. In saying that, I still never sell my mk2 :mrgreen: I heard before the the Corrado was classed as te best handeling FWD drive car with the integra type R a few years back.
  12. Shit you serious !!! But if your getting 300 miles too a smaller tank then you must be getting some really good fuel consumption. Id only get 300 miles to a 55 liter tank in my 16v Golf so didnt think the Corrado was that bad. Maybe Ill book in for a Rolling Road session if you think its using too much fuel. Cheers

  14. Holy octane batman!!! Im lucky too see 200 out of my G60. But the tank is a piddily 40 liters or so. Not like my golf - 55liter which I get 300mile out of. So is there a different size tank in the VR6 and G60 out of interest ????
  15. I have had a mk2 16v (145brake) for the last 3.5 years and a mk2 8v before that. The 16v is faster then the 8v for sure but feck, the G60 I recentally bought just blows me away with its power. The one I got is chipped 68mm pully and stage 4 charger so Im looking at about 180 brake - dyno proven 181 back in 1994. 0-60 is poo cause you wont hit 60 in second gear no matter how hard you try but dont worry, you'll be on the other side of a 100mph before you know it. It has often cuaght me out only too look down and see the speedo pointing vertical....and stil pulling ctrong. I have seen 135 with more too go but its enough for me anyway. Its a hoot. Still mad for my 16v but the corrado is a differant beast alltogether.
  16. Well luckily I have a mk2 Golf to play with aswell so Im not stuck for transport and can strip out the corrado and compare it too the Golf parts. And yes I mean the spindle splines have round off. So when I put the wipers on, the spindle spins alright but the wiper dosent move with it. :x
  17. hi all, My drivers side wiper decide to give up the ghost at the weekend while driving down the country. The wiper arm was blowing about and I had to drive with my hand out the window holding it afraid it would fly off. When I pulled over I noticed the splines on the wiper motor end had rounded off and the wiper arm was free to move up and down with out the motor. As you can imagine at any speed over 10mph the wiper would fly up the screen with the wind. So my question is, what other VAG car shares the same motor or do I have to dig deep and go too the dealers. I considered a spot weld but that could be hassle a bit further down the road. Any help is much appreciated cause I cant drive the car the way it is at the moment. Mark

  19. Beatiful color and love the interior. Was the leather standard or was it retro fitted. Most of the G60s Im seeing have grey cloth but Id love black leather (and I just know were there is a set for sale). Best of luck with the motor, its well tasty.
