What kind of power is the 2ltr pushing out, my Storm currently has about 145bhp from a 1.9, but it's a very "revvy" motor.
-
Like the grille on this one, and the wheels look great, but don't envy you when it comes to cleaning them. (JrB who learnt his lesson on standard G60 BBS Rims. - Kids, Just don't do it!)
-
Interesting grille on the Mk 1, GL. And is that a Mk.1 Scirocco Storm interior I see before me? Nice, like it.

Just to tidy this up a bit, the early G60s (up to face-lift ones) were SUPPOSED to be fitted with ABS as standard, but there was a problem with the unit apparently, so not many did get it fitted. If you did get ABS, you'll also have ATC

Changing to 17s definitely made a difference on my VR. Top end dropped, and also fuel economy went down from high 20s/low 30s to low 20s.

Just a quick relevent post, you can't buy the old style bonnet new now, VW have run out.... :?
-
Hmmm, might consider them, but a bit tooo non-standard seeing as it's supposed to be concours... The day will be at Leicester Car Radio (behind Castles on Abbey Road).
-
Leicester, so it's pretty central

Okay, been in conversation with the lads at my local car stereo shop and they're interested in having another open evening this year for the Corrado Club. I thought it might be worth seeing if people were interested in coming up (or down) to? Great night out was had by all who came last year with some real bargains to be had. Sony, Cerwin Wega, and AudioBahn people were there with their demo cars. Anyway, the evening would be free and I might be able to get the testing equipment borrowed so you can really see how much (or how little) db your systems were pushing out.... Anybody interested, please list below and we'll see what we can do. Club members and non-members welcome.

Sweeet Sandy - Hi, how ya doing!
-
I'm not certain, I think they didn't believe me, or more probably were so up their own arses with Golfs that they'd never heard of a Corrado Campaign.
-
Naaah, that dog  I've still got the one that I came to see it in though, now that's pristine and wonderful motor.... 1.9 engine oooh sweet. comes out every summer for trip down to GTi Int...

Yes, hands up, I've got one.... New snippets of information as well, there was one for sale in the last edition of The Sprinter, I haven't found out yet if its been sold, but I suspect it has. There (at most) 5 left now as one has been stripped, I was offered the interior (minus the dash which is annoying as that's red leather too!) last year at the Donington Show. The one from up Sheffield that was supposed to have been written off has been rescued. Chris de Bono's ex-Campaign (Coventry car) is still around. I still haven't accounted for 1 car (one of the London ones), so if anybody knows of it's whereabouts let me know. I'm trying to piece together a "Campaign register". Funny story, I asked to join the "Campaign Register" at GTi International, and they asked whether it was a Mk1 or Mk2... I told 'em it was a Corrado and they told me to sod off....

S'okay Jimbo, I know you're in... The comment was aimed at the world in general really.....

Did this mod to my Ol G60 as it was gonna cost about £60 a side for new door-handles from VAG, plus you needed to change the locks around etc. etc. The Passat route cost £25 for two new handles and also improved security.... So, on the whole thoroughly recommended if you have got broken handles, otherwise don't bother...
-
I'll let it ride for the moment, but they are © and you should really ask permission before reprinting them... 8) Main thing is that these technical articles in The Sprinter are for members of the club, if you wan'em, join up - only £15 for the year....

Currently running 5.25" Mid-Bass drivers in doors, 4" Mids in dash and dome tweeters in the top of the A-Pillars. Beautiful sound. Cross-overs stuck under dash under glove-box...

Let us know how you get on.... If I were you though, I'd start by building a standard PC first, as these things spring up their own little unexpected problems....
