about 38psi, when i last checked mate?? only checked it the other day, the only other thing is that i might have picked up a puncture along the way?? but i didnt feel a thing untill the tyre started to shred....
-
yeah, i prob wont even bother, its not worth the hassle really, the tyre is only £60 to replace so it could have been worse!
-
nearly had a heart attack when i got out of the car, thought the rim was fecked, i felt better when i found the rim was ok...
-
the lip of the arch had no signs of rubbing at all?? thats what i first thought, maybe it had hit the arch but i cant see any signs of rubber etc. To be honest it wasnt too bad when it when, just a slight judder and a lot of noise! Not a good thing if you own a G60... :) All was ok tho managed to get it into the hard shoulder ok, i was absolutely gob smacked the rims was intact without a mark, hopefully it will only cost me the price of a new tyre. Will have to investigate tho, dont want this happening again!

This happend to me today!! Totally shat myself!! all happend at motorway speeds... The tyre has totally f****ed up big time!!! Thank god the rim is ok..... Hopefully there wont be any further damage to the car.... Not totally sure what has caused it either??....

no problem matey! happy to help! :)

if its a jabba rebuild then i would seriously consider getting it done soonish, there have been reports of their work not being as good as it used to be. I havent got the sns anymore, sold that a while ago, sorry. Your probably best of having a chat with darren again mate, i would have thought your mods would justify a custom chip then again you may get away with an SNS chip?? He might even do you a deal on one of their intercooler setups (similar to Golf FMIC) , red tops, custom map and a charger rebuild all together... :) it will be a fair bit of money but at least you get piece of mind and ur car will fecking fly! :)

Yeah maybe more like 240bhp but i dont wanna be too optimistic yet :) I think i may keep the bottom end pretty much standard altho i am going to start saving my pennies for a cnc head big valve head and maybe make up a 1940cc engine in the garage over the next year or so, which sould keep me occupied for a bit. i am pretty much very happy with the performance at the moment its more than enough for me at this stage.. 8) the next thing i am hoping to get pretty soon is a stainless manifold, but probably wont do this until late summer maybe, not sure yet. The u-bend you can see in the pic is the part you need to connect to the G60 intercooler setup, it helps if you find a G60 intercooler that comes with all the pipes and the u-bend as you will need it to make it fit it into the corrado, either that or i think g-werks can now get hold of all the piping you may need to install it. I had the sns chip before the remap yeah, this was a very good chip the only reason i didnt keep it was because of the mods done to the car, which required a custom chip to suit my specific needs etc.

Yeah mate its an uprated fan from G-werks, there is so much more room in the bay now! and the fan works quite nicely aswell.. :) The full blend charger has AFAIK more porting etc to create slightly more boost and make it more efficient i believe, Darren may have to correct me on that one. buts its about as much as you can do to a charger without it being totally unreliable. it makes around 15.5 psi with the stage 2 P&P cylinder head on it aswell, so its definatley doing its job! Seems like a very strong charger.... :) I have no idea whats its kicking out at the moment, still gotta get the final ecu map sorted yet, but i am guessing prob round the 230Bhp + mark i reckon judging from what people have said and other cars with similar mods?? I will have to wait till the RR day to get a base figure on what the engine is producing, with or without the final ecu map.

The camera actually makes the bay look better than it does in real life... :D although its still not too bad considering its the first time ive cleaned the engine bay in months...
-
No problem matey! glad to be of help! 8) They look quite cool on the mini!!
-
This is a very nice colour, very understated, which suits the corrado quite nicely. 8) Then again you cant beat the standard silver colour of the speedlines.
-
Well i suppose it depends on what the bra is supporting... :)
-
that looks excellent mate! Where abouts did you get that bonnet bra from? thats gotta be one of the best looking ones i have seen so far.
-
yeah thats prob your best bet mate! i would have thought your g60 would be pushing maybe 230 bhp when / if you get the FMIC, so its not gonna be slow! but as you say the 1.8t unit is very tempting... and there is huge tuning potential with these units!
-
I take it your swapping your G60 lump for a 20Vt then mate?
-
Just a quick one! I was just wondering whether i would benefit much from a stainless manifold for my G60? seen a few around, especially the G-werks item which is reasonably priced aswell. I havent had the my exhaust manifold matched to my Stage 2 head yet so this may be causing bad flow?? i am guessing the stainless item would improve this quite nicely? just wondering what experiences people had with them really? Cheers

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
Shaggy replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
yeah that might look really good actually!!! You could always give it a go and see what it looks like, that would look ace on a dark coloured C! 8) -
as G60 Griff has mentioned i find the handling with 16" rims even tho they are 8J wide is miles better than 17s, and the difference in acceleration is quite noticable too.. 8)

You will have fun changing the water pump mate.... :) -
Just fitted my uprated fan! attached with cable ties at the moment! Frees up so much space in the bay! Also changed the gearbox oil , as the gear change was getting very notchy, used some fuchs gear oil (similar to redline) which has transformed it! although this oil was meant for my g60/Vr6 hybrid box thats sat in the garage waiting to be fitted... 8)

managed to get it in yesterday, just took out all the old fan and motor etc and plugged it into the original fan socket with male spade connectors! works a treat! and there is sooo much more room in the bay now!, although its only wired in for one speed i think as i only have a spade connector into the lower speed wire (red/white) although when it does kick in it moves quite a bit of air... 8) Would i be able to spure of the same wire coming from the motor and go into both coonections on the fan plug to get in coming on at both settings??
-

just found a link to a similar discussion although it doesnt mention anything about wiring it in for 2 speeds?? http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?p=278098&sid=0e816e819b0505b1da8e1433706656cb

Got my self a 12" diameter "davies, Craig" uprated cooling fan to go on my G60 from G-werks at the weekend. Anyway i was just hoping for some confirmation on how to wire it all up? Can i use the three pin plug on my existing setup and wire it in like that so i can make use of the thermo switch etc etc. there are 2 wires coming from the fan? Darren mentioned doing something like that but upon getting the kit home i dont know whether i have to use the relays that came with the fan or not. And do i need to keep the original fan shroud that surrounds the rad with this setup?
