Yes, esp. 1.9s. I haven't driven one of these for over 20years! It brought back fun memories!
-
Lol yeah it's hard not to sort all the bits that need doing!
-
It looks like it's worn the mileage well ;)

Kind of. I was made redundant in May so started up in June, attempting to turn a passion for cars in to a business - http://www.yesterdayscars.co.uk I'm no whizzo mechanic or anything but finding my feet buying cars like this and breathing some life back in to them! So far, so good lol
-
Oh wow that looks incredibly tidy. How many miles on it? Great engines the 8 valves ;)
-
I've had a cunning plan (I think?!) I've just picked this up tonight for stock; It will need a couple of little paint touch ups, so I may get a couple of rattle cans made up for it and use the remainder on the wheels.
-
It will be on by the end of the day ;) The trim turned up earlier in the week, I was just waiting for some trim tape to turn up - which did this morning

Yes they do look very similar to Borbet C's. These are made by 'Titan' - never heard of them before! Dark grey may well be on the horizon ;)
-
Now I know that taste in wheels is a personal thing but I would appreciate peoples opinions. I've never been convinced on the white wheels on my recently acquired C. I can't really justify spending on new wheels or refurb at the moment (damn I wished I bought the mint Estorils I was offered for £80 a few months back!) so any change short term will be me painting them. Here's how we stand at the moment; Up close the finish isn't great. Sometimes I like them, others I don't. I did think about spraying them silver then lacquer them but I'm not sure it'll work so now think along the lines of black, graphite grey etc. So, opinions please - throw em at me! lol (and if anyone is handy with photoshop feel free to have a play ;) )

Nice!

OMG what have I started - it's just cheese! lol Oh and give me chocolado!

Great drawing! lol

LOL. Well I owned a MK3 Golf VR6 a few years back and have missed it since selling it. The noise, THE NOISE!!
-
LOL, appreciate the comments chaps and food based discussions are always a win!! The help I've had already has saved me some grief and expense in buying parts at sensible prices. The only down side is there isn't a VR6 lump under the bonnet of mine, but one day, one day....

Yes it's there

Hi all I'm not wanting to blow smoke up your asses or anything, but have to say that I've not been here even a week yet and the welcome and help I've had so far from you all has been absolutely fantastic - I feel at home already! I help run the MK1 Golf Owners Club and we have a similar approach, but it seems hard to find elsewhere at times and having experienced some other car forums recently (that shall remain nameless!) where I've struggled to get any response, my short time here so far has been a pleasant contrast and a breath of fresh air. So two surprises for me really, how great the Corrado is (how I've never been in one before being a VW man I don't know) and how great this place is - a credit to you all. Thanks guys! Cheers Andy

Ok fair enough John. Thanks for that info, it's appreciated ;)
-
Thanks for the warning John, I've been PM-ing with Goldie as he has a few but he's suggested I get VW to check which part number I need against the VIN given the different types

When you say a pulse through the pedal, is this something you feel I take it? My scanner scans the engine codes ok so assuming it's do with the ABS system but could be wrong. I did have a mate with a pricey snapon gismo connect when I bought it but that was when I was trying to sort out the idle issues. I can't remember if we checked ABS then or not. I'll have to get him to try again! lol
-
Ah cool I'll check that out... Cheers
-
Lol! :-D

Hi Sean, thanks for the reply. Yes the car in my sig is the one I'm referring to. The brakes feel ok, although on braking there is a faint hissing/buzzing noise which I was putting down to vacuum leak at the servo. Maybe it's ABS related? I've got a basic OBD scanner and it can't connect to the ABS system so I guess that's to do with the light missing. It sounds then like I need to get one and go from there? Thanks again Andy

Ok thanks Dave
