Hey Guys, I've got an issue with the ABS in the VR6. Every now and again, usually at low speeds, thankfully, something (presumably the ABS system) will make a kind of deep buzzing sound for a few seconds. Any time I press the brakes around the time this is happening, they are very slow to work, with the pedal being jittery in the extreme (but different to the regular ABS on/off pedal feedback under heavy braking). The ABS light has been coming on at intermittent intervals for some time now, before this problem started, but the mechanic I take it too couldn't see anything wrong with the ABS last time he looked. Any thoughts or experience appreciated. Cheers, Ben ....I had a search on the forum, but couldn't see anything similar.

H221 M** Black G60 at the Nurburgring this weekend 26/27th May?

That was easy! Found a couple of 20A blade fuses on a wire running from the battery to the black blocks (fuses?). One of them v-old so replaced and all working. Cheers :)

Morning all, I have an issue with the headlights when I switch to the full beams they don't come on & the main beams turn off, darkness. Have checked main fuse panel & that the bulbs are fine with direct power. I have the original wiring loom upgrade fitted (purchased on here AGES ago!), so could it be something to do with that? I saw another couple of posts with something similar. Any ideas on what to check / how to fix? Cheers, Ben

I'm after a 312mm brake setup for the front, either the whole package or just the calipers & carriers to build from. It's going on a late model VR6. Cheers, Ben

Whatever will cover the P&P? Do you only need one of them? They came as a pair, so if I search/clear the boot I might find the other one.

I've got one in my boot... You likey?

Evenin' all, Does anyone know if anyone makes a set of fixed 20mm [lowering] rear springs/shocks for a corrado VR6? Not keen on going to coilovers again after my experience with FKs.... Cheers, Ben

Update: So I've had the radiator changed, and it's exactly the same, it gets to 110 after about 30 mins then keeps going until I turn the heater on! The lower hose from the radiator is still cold after an hour, so what else could it possibly be? In the last two months, the following has been replaced: Temperature sensor [Yellow] Radiator Thermostat Water Pump Cheers
-
lol......Yep, this problem existed before I got the thermostat replaced. I'd read that this sort of thing could be caused by the thermostat not opening properly, but it's still the same. I'll do the hose / radiator test at the next opportunity. If there is a blockage in the radiator, is it stopping coolant getting into some parts of the engine completely, and causing damage?
-
Thanks for the continued input guys.... OK, I've checked it with the ignition on, but not the engine, and all the noise was coming from the side of the block, which I'm assuming is the main water pump? What I think is the Aux water pump [top of the block under the housing, on the right of the pic] isn't making any noise that I can detect [ see pic below ]. The thermostat was replaced only two weeks ago, so I doubt it's that.
-
Thanks Andy. The pump doesn't feel as if it's whirring, I guess I'd be able to tell if it was seperate from the engine vibrations! Anyway, while looking at that, I felt a few of the hoses, all boiling hot, obviously.........except one. Wierd, since the car had been running for an hour & reached 110°C+. It's one of the hoses coming out of the block into the radiator [i think]....I took a pic in case my fantastic description isn't helping! Question is, shouldn't this be hot too?
-
Andy T, changed the sensor but nothing's changed :( Was speaking to a guy at VW, and he seesm to think it's that the Aux water pump isn't coming on when this sensor fires. Anyone else had problems with this? Cheers
-
Thanks for the replies so far guys. To answer a few of the questions, the car's had both a new expansion tank [& cap] and a head over the last year & a bit, so it's probably not them. Andy T , have you got a part number for this temperature sensor you mentioned? Don't know what the oil temps are, as I'm not sure how to check them [ashamedly].
