  1. HOLD on - why is oil filter costing £100 - that's loads too much surely whats the part number
  2. Im sure if we drove Citroen 2CV it would be £10 - but then that would not be driving!
  3. Sure it could all be done cheaper but went for goodridge hoses which are the most expensive and went for decent discs etc - not necessarily the best but good enough for me!
  4. Having said the above - I now potentially have all the old parts I can resell and make some of the money back - plus I seem to have some additional hoses??? will be selling those too LOl
  5. Rough guide All performance hoses (Front, back and middle £115 Front callipers and sliders inc reurb and painting = £130 Front brembo discs = £80 Front pads = £35 Back callipers pagid(new) = £140 Rear Brembo discs = £50 Rear Pads = £25 Fitting was approx. 120 front and 120 rear So I guess the total costs front and rear was close to £820
  6. No mate all the parts were on top of that. Over the weekend I will post a full list inc parts and cost of each so you can get a full costs of doing front and rears brakes - looks really good with the larger black callipers mind - now saving up for the B12s as skint now! If only I was handier - need to learn! I believe fitting brakes is fairly straight forward but was nervous about the bleeding and re-filling of brake and clutch system - none of my mates round here know anything about cars so no one to show me the ropes!
  7. Ok Front and rear brakes fitted (Callipers, Carriers, discs, pads and braided hoses - all of which I supplied) , 2 x New tyres supplied and fitted (Bridgstone RE002s), Tracking done, Heat shield welded up, Full underside check (apparently excellent) Total cost including Mk3 Calliper refurb and paint (black) - £520 - didn't think that was too bad although its beans on toast for the next 3 weeks.
  8. The Bridgestone Re002s are superb - great grip and road feel - the mechanic at the garage was so impressed that he is getting some for his car. - He did however say " you should get some improved suspension and the car would be perfect" - I did add this is on my very long list
  9. I will bring a portable air con unit to point at my car! Lol
  10. I would defo be up for coming along to one anytime this year - hopefully a nice warm sunny day can be arranged lol. Really sorry I missed Sundays!
  11. Lol - I deny it! But I do love the Avro Vulcan - one of the most beautiful planes ever made
  12. Actually the number one spot is a great photo despite the car - with the reflection on the car of a Vulcan overhead - saying hat only 7 more votes to 2nd place!
  13. OK - Having Bridgetones - the rears needed replacing so will switch them round so new bridgestones on front and current TR1s on the back. Only problem is they are out of stock till tomorrow so car spends another night at the garage ho hum - getting cold turkey and need her back - need to go for a drive. Good news is the price was good £76.80 inc VAT and fitting for the two
  14. Lol! I have already diverted £4k into getting he garage extended and remote doors ha-ha! Cost for that is a big holiday! Not sure what cost diverting the bathroom funds would bring but my eyes water at the thought!!!
  15. Based on the cost I may just go steadily down the route of .... B12 suspension (really want to lower the car slightly), SS exhaust and then maybe some cams and do it over the next 2 years. Not sure if I can justify the cost of going turbo - and I think the misses would strangle me if I spend the bathroom upgrade money on the car!
  16. Wheels....??? Do you need bigger than standard wheels.... Is that for much bigger brakes... Do you need bigger than 288on fronts.
  17. So is that what it costs to take a standard corrado to turbo? Or are there lots of other things that need doing too?
  18. Get her to keep 're publishing on Facebook corrado pages. Lots of people active on there
  19. Gatecrasher - is this a sign of a mis-spent youth or should I say enjoyable youth?!
  20. Considering the relative rarety of the G60 in numbers terms compared with the VR there seem to be proportionaly a lot for sale. For every 5 VRs I see there seem to be 2 G60s
  21. Depending on your journey to and from work a VR can be fine on MPG but if your just doing a short journey around town to work it will come down into the teens plus it will never get up to temperature. - They need nice longish runs to get the oil up to 70+ £3K should get you a good enough one if you shop around - there seem to be a fair few up there in Scotland Im sure others on here can give some good advice on other Corrados
  22. Welcome and good luck finding the right car - what you after VR6? What's the budget?
  23. Looks like a Mondeo love fest!
  24. Ah I saw that earlier on Corrado - chat - will go and vote now - Paula... Yeah?
  25. Oh no.... did I make a mistake buying a VR??? ..... mmmmm no I don't think I did!
