Very common at this time of year with the cold weather, I wouldn't worry about it as long as there are no other symptoms of hg problems.

Isn't there a guide for replacing discs and pads in the 'how to' section??

The 320is is basically a UK spec 325i sport but with a 2.0 litre version of the E30 M3 engine fitted (stroke is shorter) They have the same gearbox as the M3 with dogleg first gear They were sold instead of the 325 sport in Italy and Portugal as those countries have much higher road tax on cars with engines over 2.0L Click the link in my sig to see more.

Just something I've always wondered about oilman, With the newer PD diesel vws with variable service intervals, say if like me you don't like the idea of leaving the oil in the car for 20k miles or whenever the car reckons it needs to be changed and want to change it more often (say every 5-7k miles) do you still have to use the more expensive long life oil or can you revert to the spec for the PDs without variable service intervals??

Well what he said was: Just said I'd throw in the remark in case he'd been offered one at that money or something :)

If it's just a car you want to stay going and not require any work to keep it on the road then you'd be best off swallowing your pride and go buy a mondeo. The mk2 gti may be the more interesting choice on the face of it but any one you buy is going to be at least 13 years old and will need a lot more maintenance than a mondeo half the age. If you buy the golf you'll probably end up spending some money on it almost every pay packet you get as there'll always be something wrong with it. I know this only too well, I have one! Remember that mechanically speaking they are quite similar to the corrado and as such most of the problems that affect corrados are shared by the golf. Oh, and if you find an E30 320is for 1k let me know, I'll buy it for sure LOL!

I think everyone (myself included) over on vage thought you were taking the piss Dave! I'm still not quite sure whether you are or not to tell the truth. But I think the bodykit looks shit!

Replacing the slave cylinder won't help the juddering, the only thing to do is replace the whole kit, and while the gearbox is out make sure that the crankshaft seal on the engine or the spigot shaft seal on the gearbox aren't leaking and allowing oil onto the clutch as this could be causing your juddering problem. @Henny 2 hours to do a clutch? I've never done one in a corrado but with most cars it's at least 4-5

The rover k series engine is notorious in the trade for headgasket problems. And when the gasket goes it's worse than in most cars as you have to get the valves re seated or else the car won't run properly when you put it back together. The problem is that the cooling system only contains something like 2 litres of water so if any leaks out it's a disaster straight away, oh, and the coolant level warning sensor is mounted too low in the header tank so when it comes in it's already too late.

Small bumper 5dr 16V G60 syncro only 72 were hand built by vw motorsport. A mate of mine has one. They are sweet, the ultimate mk2 for sure.

Never heard of it. It isn't a rallye is it?

Damn straight! Check this shit out 8) :D

I have Denso Iridiums in my golf, don't notice any difference with them or anything just thought they looked well cool so I bought a set on ebay.

What's different about the VR6 ones? Will they fit a mk2 golf? The ones in my golf are shot and I'm putting in new shocks next week so am wondering which top mounts to go for. (sorry for the thread hijack by the way)

Nice choice to have. It would have to be the golf for me (unless I was paying the fuel bill) I wonder are they going to make a TDI with all the GTI bits?
-
Sounds steep alright, the fan in my golf is slightly noisy on the lowest speed setting. Does anyone know if anything can be done to help matters or do I have to splash out on a new one as Jim has done???

I would say that if the 10W 40 is working ok in the engine (ie not using too much) then don't change it. 15W 40 is a thicker oil which can help reduce oil consumption in higher mileage engines but 10W 40 would be better as long as oil consumption isn't a problem.

I got them on here. A guy was selling them in the for sale section. It was back around June sometime but I'm only getting round to doing the conversion now.

I will in a couple of weeks. Just waiting on new brake discs before I do it.

At the moment I use auto glym supreme polish which is part of their trade range. It is far, far better than the ordinary auto glym stuff which I don't like at all. It is easy to use, lasts quite well, works especially well on darker colours and is good vfm. I was thinking of trying either meguiars or that cheap zymol from Halfords that was mentioned when the bottle of auto glym is finished.

Damn beaten to it LOL!

Here's a diagram explaining the ET measurement. What Dec has said is correct. If you imagine a spacer next to the inner mating face of the wheel then the ET will be reduced....

I have them on my golf and have to agree with what most people are saying about them. Savage grip in the dry, not so good in the wet, bit noisy and wear quite quickly (though no worse than toyos in my experience) As they are now obsolete they can be had at a bargain price. I got a new pair pretty cheap just before christmas.

This is the reply I got back from BBS: So it must be an RV
