Come to think about it - Were there any Corrado commercials?

Cheers Ray Yes - the joys and sorrows of ownership I have discovered! Are our cars best to be driven daily? Or as the old Golf GTi commercial use to say "u can always rely on a Golf" The squeaky ear ring commercial (oil can to the lady s ear in the passenger seat) And when people say "leave the golf in the garage for 6months, and it will start 1st every time !" Are those 3 above still / were true? Anyway U closer than I thought! Whereabout are u? Could hook up for group pics over Easter? Of even more often as I sometimes travel to Sheffield to work ;)

My profile on left does say Yorkshire ;) So any Yorkshire county to the West Country still opposite to u :) I see u have/had a Lexus. Lovely cars aren't they (I had a 1999 IS200)...

Hi I bought my VR6 a fortnight ago. It broke down 20mins after leaving the seller s house. Booked into local specialist a week later - got quoted a bill of £1000 - eeeek! 2 weeks after ownership, and its been with the specialist for a week now :( Initially plans of having Stealth to: - replace timing chain / clutch / etc - small remap Is now down the drains (can't justify £2k of work now :() As garage is ONLY fixing problems. My car still needs a major service. I am useless with car service and my bank balance looking very worried... If I source the parts (any recommendations where)? Can some kind gent of lady help me service it? Dont have to be all the parts, Just any time u can spare and we just do as much as we can within that time. Beer tokens, pub carvery or anything u fancy available! ;) I prefer someone within 15 miles from Bradford, West Yorkshire. Or Anyone from Bristol over Easter (1st 2 weeks of Easter hols)? Ray My garage managed to locate a seal (last one) from one of the VW dealers!

Cheers Ray :) My garage assumed the same so buying the bits separately. I did a LIVE CHAT with VW Heritage and they confirmed it does NOT come with seal :(

Full Service (minus Chain, Chain guides/tensioners): As the cost of the bill to fix my car comes to and end at the garage (hopefully)! Its time again I like to re-visit whatelse needs to be done at a major service... Now the car came with a fully stamped service, 122k on the clock, But, - only a oil/filter, coil pack, water pump service last year - stood in a garage for 10 years before that I was determined to replace chain/clutch etc , but I can't justify an extra £1500 after that garage bill :( So What else in a major service do I need to replace? - plugs? - HT leads? - PAS fluid? - Gearbox fluid? - Brake oil? - Air filter (I got K&N - so how do I clean them?) - anything else (Distributor? Pads / disc s)? I am completely useless at servicing a car! Just need someone to show me once and I will try it myself next time! If I get the parts, Is there some kind soul (with time and patience) help me service my car? PS: Prefer 15miles radius of Bradford commute PPS: Seanl82 (my Rado guru) where should I get the parts from? ;) PPPS: HairyArse (my Rado Financial advisor) u happy with this spendthrift investment? ;)

That's the one Sean ! :) I just going by what the garage called it "coolant housing". But his part number is on your link but VW called it " Radiator top flange" Sorry for all the confusion, folks! :(

Yes Jim Garage say its a "Coolant housing" VW Heritage say its "Radiator top flange" So I guess just different names for same part?

I am lost Jim :( VW Heritage mobile site comes back with nothing for 535121647 VW Heritage desktop site comes back with the flange + seal as separate items. Flange: out of stock (expected within week) O-ring: out of stock completely. Can u send me the exact link for the flange availability and states it include the o-ring?

Panic over! We can stand down from DEFCON 1 to DEFCON 5 now ... Garage might have found one. Its an O-ring seal. But with the Coolant Housing (Radiator Top Flange) coming from Greece - I going to be Corrado-less for a little while longer :( :( :(

Jim - garage unsure - but look s like they are sold separately... Panic OVER! Yay! Garage said may have found one ....fingers crossed!

Remember my lose driver door handle sticking out? And this screw to tighten it? Garage said that is NOT an original screw - It looks like a wood screw because the original thread hole worn??? Any ideas how to tighten the handle now? :(

Oh Garage also said my car thinks the temperatute is MINUS 49 degrees!!!! Due to a worn/broken wire in the wiring loom ... So it was dumping massive of fuel into the mix each time - eeeek!

Update from specialist garage! All work agreed done! :) Everything fixed and works :) :) But, New problem :( Coolant Housing leaking (above radiator) :( :( :( Coolant Housing (535121647) been ordered from Greece :) But garage can NOT source Coolant Housing Seal (535121687) from anywhere - not even VW Heritage :( :( :( Anyone know where I can source from? Where is the place in German that that can supply elusive VW parts?
