My VR6 sat in specialist garage for a week now :( £1000 bill already And a new problem now has arisen :( The Coolant Housing is leaking - AAAARRRGGHHH! Garage managed to order the Coolant Housing (535121647) from Greece. But he's not been able to source the Coolant Housing Seal (535121687) - He s tried VW Heritage already. Does anyone know where he can try? Where is the place in Germany that also source elusive parts? Thanks all!

Er No! :) Sorry, Tiger - u completely opposite of the M4 :(

Cool Andy! I have assigned Seanl82 as my Rado Guru. U are my Rado "financial" advisor now ;)
-
Cheers Sean :) U seem to know everything! Just that it does look tight from the inside :( Not got my car back yet - could be EVEN tighter in my car! That spare sunroof doesn't slide proper (had to push on one side to close) AND the Allen key turns with a LOUD SNAP from time to time - eeeek! Hope mine doesn't do that...

Well Remember my leaky sunroof (only from rear)? Well The car was parked at a slight UP incline So the water should have drain backwards into the drain channels and out via the tubes. I got a spare sunroof and decided to tinker a little ... The front drain tubes ok to clean The rear ones will need to remove the headlining - eeek! This must be where its leaking thru 1st line of defence is the black outside seals. 2nd line this black tube along the back? The inner seal I know Seanl82 shown me to remove the sunroof is maybe to undo those allen bolts (2 on each side from inside) - but its tight there, so maybe undo the bolts from outside (2x white bolts)? Think I will do the following: 1. Order new outer black seals £58 2. Order new inner grey seals £22 3. Refurb the black tube seal at the back of sunroof

Lol I was trying to work it out myself U see I am surprised my car can do 100+ miles with 1/2 tank of fuel On different roads. Now it has a 77litre tank What do one usually get from full tank on mostly city and A roads?
-
Cool Will think about it!
-
Excellent! :) Thanks! I might do that ... Or would the £50 best spent coming down on Stealths RR on 1st March? How much they charge on the day for dyno?
-
Picking up a Short Shifter from Daves16 tomorrow Tuesday. Returning my old one (and another members) over Easter in person. I am in West Yorks, Daves16 on J25 M1. Does anyone want me to collect theirs and drop off at Daves16??? Cheers Wayne
-
How much will dyno run cost? If power down is it not better to remap to extract more power? 122k Original chain (i guess) No mods except cone filter, coilovers
-
I was under the impression RS Tuning is more expensive than Stealth? What u think? Take it to Stealth to do chain guides/tensioners + remap? Or to RS Tuning? Though Leeds is only 20miles from me ...
-
Cheers mate! Not sure i can get away that day :(
-
Plans have changed !!! As costs are adding up :( My usual plans of ONLY using a SPECIALIST, AND service all parts for piece of mind (full service including timing chain) - Will now change to: 1. Timing chain is fine, no noises etc 2. Maybe using a cheaper garage for bog standard jobs (disc/pads) 3. For piece of mind: WILL replace timing chain GUIDES/TENSIONERS only - and Door handle repair kit (Daves16) 4. I still want to enjoy my VR6: - so get Stealth for small remap - Short Shift (Daves16) - Upgrade Headlight looms (James) 5. Potentially sell later in the year :( :( :( Think this is a good financial AND enjoy-VR6 approach?
