Possibly hacksaw the heads off and go from there? Maybe chop them and stick some nuts/washers on? Just a quick idea off the top of my head... I'd be prepared for the worst though in case something breaks. G60 is still off the road, never been so dirty! :-( But finally got around to fitting the Red anodised C.O pot pipe.

EDIT: My Headlight Splitting Here:thumbleft: That stuff is meant to be pretty amazing, Jay Leno did a feature on it.:thumbleft: Problem is that Chrome doesn't reflect light very well (Absorbs it instead) It's actual Silver that reflects on the headlight reflectors I think...Done with Vac bagging or something. Awesome! :smug:

To be honest (If you can do so) I'd consider junking it and looking at something like a Magnex/Jetex/Miltek, secondhand perhaps...All well known for their subtle but good sound, as well as 'Good' quality. Or you could consider a Powerflow system or similar, but the quality/fit can vary from place to place. Yours won't need a cat by the way, but a silencer will go in it's place if you wish.

Well I've experienced crappy aftermarket ones that don't last two minutes :-( (Warped/leaked soon After fitting) But now that heritage do them I suppose that's a no brainer like you say...An alloy one would look good though and probably outlast the car lol.
-
Would be nice to have some alloy ones available, like the replacements for the radiator top flange that Gruvenparts do. I wonder if they would be interested in making them up? Or you can bet there's something from another Vw that will do the job?

Aye, get rid of the extra weight:thumbleft: Got rid of mine years ago and it's never bothered me, I just used a sealed up bung (Helps being Black though. Probably get it welded up at some stage in the future...

No worries Kempy, I'm in no rush mate.:thumbleft:

Bump. Drivers side still required.
-
If you could please Kempy, if it is the drivers side, let me know what you want for it. I'm sure you could sell the glass separately no problem as well if you wanted to.:thumbleft: Aye, that's the plan but I've already got some E30 vents cheers mate. Although I won't be using them, looks like just as much work for me to fab some vents up myself so going to go down that route.

The spoiler, actual aerodynamic aid or marketing ploy?
Riley replied to Roger Chatfield's topic in General Car Chat
It sure does mate! I never knew that they were all supposed to do the auto window closure with the key. Just going off past experience (Or just experiencing the dealer fitted leccy windows). One of them was a non sunroof early valver with leccy windows. Mine's a late bodied car but the sunroof doesn't close with the key, nothing wrong with it as far as I'm aware so I presume it's down to the early/late modules etc. -

Oh aye, I know some do it mate, just not all of em:thumbleft: Mate has an early valver that doesn't do it, and a few of my own previous didn't do it (Two valvers and a G60). Current G60 does it:cool: -

Some of them don't do it (The windows), tends to just be most of the later ones I think. -
Replied to your email cheers mate. Drivers side still required.:thumbleft:

Aye, VW said it reduced lift by approx 60%! -
Is the surround/fittings all good Dave? If so I'll take it. If you want to pop me a PM cheers mate:thumbleft:
-
Strange...Theyre normally alright if they are still up to the job of knocking the battery light out. They are only held on with two phillips screws though, so you could pop it out and physically inspect the brushes, only cheap to replace anyway for piece of mind.
-
Welcome. Possibly the 'X Relief' or 'Load Reduction' relay. From factory it was numbered '18' on the relay itself if I remember rightly. Could be a number of things really, best to start an elimination process. When you start the car, does the battery light go out ok? If so then your Voltage regulator (Located in the alternator) is likely OK. Neil.

Yep! But I like it. First shot I'd say £3.5K? maybe a tad more? if it's as genuine/good as it sounds. Although not many seem to sell too easily/frequently at that kind of money at the moment. (Watching prices constantly myself). Regards the seats, they will probably be worth more sold separately I'm afraid. Neil.
-
Well truth be told, I can't actually afford to/shouldn't be buying anything at the minute (Damn House project) but of course if they are the right money then? Any pics? A price in mind? Cheers, Neil.
