-
Jim, makes us appreciate digital eh? Cheers for the pic mate :) If you will happily take a few quid for it then ill take it off your hands, other wise id rather a mint one...plus the fact that this corrado is gonna need quite a few other bits and bats before a badge  Had a quick go with the random orbital and meguiars heavy cut cleaner earlier to see what im up against, hopefully the pics show how bad it is...

Nah problem still there... :( Went to a rolling road day at Awesome yesterday...A few of us went and it was a good do :) Thought i may as well find out what the corrado is putting out, here's a couple pics first. Me and Joe, the only Corrado's there waiting to get on the rollers. And onto the rollers being strapped down, i asked them not to strap it through the wheels  so they were there messing about for a while! I was getting worried at this point... And the figures/graph. 203.6 brake horse and 184lbs ft of torque, i don't know if this is a good result, but im very happy with the way it puts the power down (bottom graph) And this is with my 3 year+ running problem! Clicky here for video. Neil.

Sonicrot, Clicky here for rear brake/wheel bearing kit 8) Ps:Jim, im sorted for the air pipe cheers mate. Neil.
-
Sorry to see that man :( Mine was done recently, full length of rear 1/4 similar to your first pic... Gutting, hope you can get it sorted cheaply/efficiently enough. Neil.
-
Jim, i think ive got a boot sorted mate...But if you could throw a pic up of both just incase? No worries on the time mate, no rush... :) Sure mate, good ol' ebay...There's a guy on there doing rear discs/pads/wheel bearings for £40 inc p+p :D Neil.
-
Started on the rear brakes earlier... New rear discs/pads/and two wheel bearing kits. Removed the old crap, and found that the back plates were a bit rotty! 3 of the bloody carrier bolts were fecked! So had to use the spline tool. Just been to pick 4 new bolts up from local tool place.£1.00 for the 4. I fitted the new bearings to the new discs, and ive left it at that for now while i check if the back plates are available, good thing is that the stub axles seem to be all good. Neil.

Hi mate, the pics are after collecting the car from manchester and driving it to my unit in burnley  The front ones are breaking away, even though they don't look as bad as the rears...The brakes just don't work at all but you can tell there is pressure applied when pressing the pedal with all the noise they make  Im about to go sort em out on the rear. Neil.
-
Ya not wrong there mate  Its up in my unit now, bringing the paint back may be a challenge like...The pics really don't show how bad it is... Pics of the brakes! Front - Shame as they are grooved discs. Rear. Neil.
-
Hi mate :) Do you mean the steering joint gaitor? (black rubber boot thing) If so, then its still perfectly useable, and won't have any adverse effect short term. Best to get a new rubber boot fitted though as it will allow noise into the car,and dry up the joint. Neil.

Just fitted a new battery to the valver...70 amp 8) And.....! Oh and ive got a new expansion tank to stop the water light flashing...And the radiator started p|ssing water out where the clamp is :( Can hear a slight whistle on tickover, its the intake boot (round part sat on top of air box)...so if anyone has one knocking about? Neil.
-
Tell me about it mate  If anything, all the grief ive had with the G60 has given me some balls. :cuckoo: Gonna try pick up a battery today so i can get it up to my unit and start sorting it properly... Neil.
-
^ With car running flick mfa to position 2. Hold in end button and tuen ignition off and restart straight away. Release end button. Neil. 8)

You guys reckon that mount could be welded in situ? I know it probably can, but its only thin metal, especially with being a bit rotty like...May just look for another... Sure man, willgive you a shout if/when i sort one :) Im wondering if i should be thinking the same mate  Well...I am but im not listening to meself  Neil.
-
 Still not bad going there mate! Done a bit more today, some good, some bad... New bits: Original beesting whip off the G60 to replace the rusty alloy thing. Original orange side repeaters also off the G60 to replace the white ones. And some passat door pins to replace alloy ones (they don't fit though) Also some circlips to sort the non existent gear change. Can see circlip here...It now has a gearchange! Then i set about fully removing the alarm/immobiliser. Found these in the process, bonus! I need some new ones in the G60! Built in remote wire too! Need a new gearknob/surround, it has holes/grommets. Then the not so good...Snapped gearbox mounting point! Neil.

Replied Adz, cheers mate 8)

Aye, if its a valver the red/black wire should be plugged in to the same colour... Its unplugged when you set the ignition timing. Neil. :)
-
Cheers chaps, i feel really good about saving it :D Gonna enjoy bringing it back to its former glory i think :D Joe... Nah, ive decided im rebuilding the mk1 now mate, but ive got a valver lump sat in the unit anyway...mmmm Jim, if its mint (Riley style mint  ) , ill have it mate :) Throw me a pic whenever you can and ill paypal you the monies? :) Neil.
-
Possibly Jim, as long as there's no scene tax on it! Can you throw me a pic/price please mate 8) Ive just found the original vehicle pre-check notes from vw too! and every mot :D Neil.
-
Damn...can't remember what i used for the head bolts, was just sommet i had knocking about that fitted no probs. Are ya fitting new studs in the head mate? Stick at it, it will come good :D Neil.
-
Aye...just the long screwy onny bit i was after mate :D Its got an ally one on there, but im not keen really, want to try and get it near standard as possible. 8) How much to throw your way? Cheers mate. Neil.
-
Gonna use meguiars heavy cut cleaner on it Jim 8) The sunroof works fully and fast! New rotor arm and dizzy cap, the misfire has gone i think, need to drive it! Used autoglym engine and machine cleaner under the bonnet/door shuts/boot shut/all over the mouldy rubbers, and then jet washed. Piccy trying to show how pink it is...still dosn't really show up! Still need a battery!
-
Pop your hand behind the throttle body to find the air screw, and wind it out a little, it should raise the tickover slightly :) Set it to tick over at around 500rpm with bts disconnected iirc. Neil.
-
Oh...a battery!
-
