Ive changed the injectors for my mates, and ive fitted new v.a.g seals to those and the fpr... Can't remember being offered any equipment off Darren?
-
Going round in a big corrado g60 shaped circle tbh :(
-
It shows it the other way here though mate? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/ ... iagram.jpg And its how it was when i bought the car...
-
cHEERS GUYS, yANARDS...YEP THE LAMBDA CIRCUIT TESTS OUT FINE, THE FLUCTUATING VOLTAGE, HEATER WIRING ETC :) Oops, caps lock... Ive even chopped the lambda wiring right up at the ecu, and yet the problem is still there :( Rob, do you mean the one dot on the back of the cam pully, as thats all i have, the two dots are on the front of it. Neil.

Ive found that using the spray kind of makes having a ported charger pointless :? It accumalates and covers the porting of the charger in crap, and i thought the apex strips were self lubricating? Im not sure that vw intended for brand new engines at the time to breathe heavy and lubricate the charger? Neil.

So does my static timing look right from the pics? Flywheel at tdc, the dot on the back of the cam sprocket does not line up with the head...But the two dots on the other side line up with slash in backplate. Im tired of thinking/talking about it tbh... When the wot switch isnt cable tied it is very slow to rev, and pops/farts. Gonna build it back up and get it ready for the show anyway... :? :( Just one last question thats never ever been clear with setting ign timing on the g60. When you have to blip the throttle above 3k 3 times, firstly, why 3k? and secondly, should you hit the wot switch each time or not? Neil.
-
Guys...What would you do? You have no money at all and there is only one part under the bonnet that you haven't replaced. I really don't know what to believe, or who to turn to. How can the cam be half a tooth out? Shall i try linimg it up with the head? Shall i try hitting the car with a trolley jack?
-
Its here Darren. And im sure its in the bentley manual too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/a777ovl/TimingBeltDiagram.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/a777ovl/TimingBeltInstructions.jpg

So the two dots don't line up with the line in the backplate like this?
-
Aye, from what i remember...it was mint on both the crank and the pully, definately went on snugly with no movement side to side... I give up man...Think ill stick a for sale sign in it at V.A.G 2008. Cheers for all the help. Neil.
-
Tbh, i just can't get my head around it. Have to correct myself i think...Its like half a tooth somehow, im getting headache again :mad2: Unless the flywheel isn't just lined up right? Im tired man, every spare minute im up there f*king about with it.
-
Hi mate, i used the mk1 dx engine bolt with the washer...but the problem was already there well before replacing it. And surely both ways of setting the cam timing can't be right? There is quite a difference between the two ways i reckon? Please look at the pics carefully. Edit:Do you mewan its slightly differnt between the two ways, but still on the same tooth then?
-
Oh man... So who is right about the camshaft timing here? Two dots lined to slash on backplate. Or One dot on back of cam sprocket to edge of head?
-
Cheers mate, its me thats done it and redone it countless times, the way ive been told to on here  ! And!!! Two local garages have checked the static timing...Edit:And ant on here! By using the two dots/slash in backplate on the cam sprocket. They do line up absolutely f*king perfectly with each other and also with the tdc at flywheel. I can't believe its only just come to light that ive been doing it wrong! So is this my problem? Are valves open when they shouldn't be? And why would bts make it run right? Im still not confident this is the problem after the sh|t ive been through with it :brickwall:
-
Well here's hopin guys, cheers :) Ive learn't not to get me hopes up like, but thats g60 ownership eh :ignore:
-
Aye, its a really unclear thing with the g60's :bad-words: I think its this that has caused my god damn 3 year running problem. Ive been told you do not line the two dots up, but use the dot on the back inline with the face of the head. :?
-
Big red letters Ok... I think...I may have found the problem, but tbh ill be pretty p|ssed off if i have. Ive been told countless times that the two dots on cam sprocket should line up with a slash on the metal backplate And this is what ive always done... Now ive just been told that its not the correct way, and you should line the dot on the back of the cam sprocket up with the edge of the head/cam cover. :? See pics. Flywheel tdc mark lined up. But my crank pully dosn't line up (and yes the crank keyway is mint/snug fit!) And low and behold, the dot on the cam sprocket does not line up with the head/cam cover. If i turn the flywheel to the 6deg mark, it lines up like this. So what the f*ck is going on?
-
How do Dave, glad to see you signed up to Volksdevil.com :D Ive tried 2 different sns stage 5 chips, ecu's etc with no joy...But i think i may havbe found the problem. Gonna update the thread... Neil.
-
Could anyone grab a pic of this please? Is the slash in the backplate not the mark to use? Or are you supposed to line up with the face of the head/cam cover? Neil.
-
Guys, should the two dots line up inbetween the slash on the backplate as below? Or as someone on dubforce has suggested...That they should line up with the cylinder head? a lot further up? :? Cheers,Neil. Ps:Mods, just keeping my 3 year problem thread on topic and clean, as you can imagine its been hard to follow for all involved.
-
Well ive got the inlet manifold off trying to sort the 3 year running problem, but nothing has shown up...So i couldn't be bothered doing a good job of painting it. And i want to get it to V.A.G 2008 in two weeks...
-
Hi mate, Is it a genuine part? And do you have a receipt with it? Just like to keep them all with the car thats all. Is it as new/mint? Neil.
-
Just got back from the unit...I sat there and just looked at it while smoking a lot...and then painted inlet manifold, a crap job as i couldn't really be arsed. Fecking thing  I really don't know how ive kept the determination up. Yanards, thanks very much for that...Ive done a hell of a lot of wire testing (everything basically, probably 3 or 4 times),but i may give that a go as soon as the inlet manifold is back on. Where is that info from if you don't mind me asking? Neil.
-
I can't rest :( Im bored anyway, so im gonna go back upto the unit, clean the manifold...Check it with a steel rule. And paint it silver :cuckoo: Peace out...Neil. The corrado owner with the longest ever running problem in the history of cars!

Hey no worries man...I can appreciate the effort people have put in trying to help, all/any idea's are well received. :D Just so damn frustrating :| I really do only have 1 part left to try, knock sensor...
